Perhaps my punctuation confused you. I was not stating that '47-'49 were similiar, that was a semi colon not a comma. S&S in Steve's video is not a '48.

The '48 you showed is a carryover '47, not the true postwar design that debuted in '48. Oh, that's right~ Cadillac FINS debuted in '48 too (something else lacking entirely from your '48 submission). Many times a car was titled the year it sold, which doesn't make it that year.

These (both original) '48 and '49 fastbacks reside in same collection. Note how hood curves downward on '48 and '49 is straight.

The 48 commercial chassis did not get the bodystyle that all other cadillacs got, they were carryovers from 47. The first new style of the commercial chassis was 1949. By the way, the series 75 did not get Cadillacs new body style until 1950, so a 49 series 75 looks just like a 47.
there is no reason to yawn me, Im just trying to help. Look at the post you said 48 & 49 are similar, i read it correctly! Yes they are similar on all Cadillac models EXCEPT comercial chassis and series 75.

WTF??? it has lincoln rims (not wheelcovers). Never knew Ford and Cadillac interchanged in these years. Im not even going to comment on the roof ornament.

Dont know why. I know the series 75 did have concept to build the 49 with the new body, but for some reason they decided not to build them.

More confusing than sad. At least this '63 Superior Crown Sovereign Landaulet roof was left intact! No partition either but that could have been removed.

Bet it sucked having bodies passed through the kitchen when trying to have a simple breakfast.

Sunnyside Auto Salvage

I stopped at Sunnyside Auto Salvage in Jonesburg, MO this week to check out 2 coaches that owner Don Heidbrink had told me about. The first was a '66 C-B Oldsmobile Seville, and the other being a '74 Miller Meteor end-loading landau. Both cars have already spent too much time outdoors to be restorable. I wasn't able to get any photos of the '74 as it was wedged in so tight. Also, forgot to check the back bumper for all of you '74-'76 owners, but Don is supposed to be checking it out and getting back to me. Don wants to sell the '66 C-B complete, but I think that he is asking too much at $1800 for a parts cars.

Watts Auto Salvage

Stopped back at Watts Auto Salvage in Wymore, NE today(with batteries in my camera!). This is the '61 Cotner- Bevington Seville that I reported about a couple of weeks ago.
