Classy Cadillacs

that car was a lot of effort on everyones part. Darrell had the corner glass for it. the shop that did the glass on Paul's car put the glass in it and the Roy Keith put the interior in it. it was bought just wet of here. to me it looked funny with the north star tucked way down in there. a lot of unused space under that hood. I have posted a in progress picture before on it but here it is again

City of Winchester PD operated '49 Superior ambulance. Yes, I've become quite enamored with Cadillac dogdishes.

Nice old combination

Bob Hedges took this '58 S/C combination in trade (in Montana, maybe?), and subsequently sold it to Carl Woerner. I photographed it at Carl's house in 1990. It was in pretty good shape, complete except for its original #28 siren, with aftermarket front and rear A/C:

I have fond memories of when cars like this were still easy to find:

I've had this picture for years, but don't know much about it except that it's of a 1976 M-M converted to a flower car. The word "Tatosian" is on the back, so the conversion may have been done by them. Tatosian's used to be a coach dealer on the east coast (NJ?), but I don't remember where and I couldn't find anything on Google.

Does anyone here know who did the conversion and where the car served?

Here's a Tatosian flower car conversion ad:

Here's 5 for the price of one. The fleet of the Ocean City, MD Volunteer Fire Department in 1971, as featured in a local newspaper. Not the best photo, but it's what I have.

Oh my, isn't that a '62 M-M Guardian ambulance on the end of the row??? :D

I talked to Mr. Cropper (in the photo) the other day, and he sent me the photo. He said they called it the "covered wagon" because of the overhang. He said they bought it new off the lot at Ritter M-M Sales near Baltimore (Al Ritter apparently would buy a few ambulances for stock and sold them off the lot). He actually called to see if I knew what happened to the Guardian or if it still was around. Oh, if only.....

That's two Guardians I know of in Maryland.

Intriguing period capture that begs asking who high profile client could have been that would have warranted a rare and expensive '40 V16 Series 90 Derham Town Car. DC-3 and fascinating Texaco Doodlebug round out this glimpse into the past.
