I know there were 2 Fairfield cars, Carl acquired at least one which went down to Florida, was restored in red by its owner, I sold the car to DiCorpo, he sold it to Bo Pounds(?) and last I knew the car was the black 70 S&S we saw in Daytona in 05 or thereabouts . I delivered the car to Atlanta in 90 or 91 and it was HANDS DOWN the tighest damn coachwork of ANY procar I had ever driven. That 70 S&S drove like a bank vault on wheels. ee_smilie:

I met Bo Pounds a few months ago at a diner five minutes from my house. Apparently he eats breakfast there all the time. He's still an ambulance collector, and has a horse-drawn, a Fold Model T, a 1957 Amblewagon, and a 1968 M-M that I know of. I think he has more too, but he stores them in NE Georgia, so I didn't get to see them first hand...

This shot I took in 90 I believe. Yes the Dietz beacon was missing when bought and the horrendous PA's were gone. In its current form (in all black) it does nothing for me.

Here is a photo of the black 1970 S&S ambulance that I photographed in 2005 at Daytona during the 2005 International Meet. Talk was the fellow that owned the car was also a collector of fire apparatus and that he had all his rigs painted up black like the ambulance.
