I would like to see Dr. Burchfield's 1972 Superior as well. Really can't wait to see Ron's 75 Hightop. That is after all the year I was born!
My vote is for the 1972 as well!

Wow Shawn, that looks fantastic. Did you have to switch the A/C to 134.a? I thought I saw where the A/C compressor had been moved.
It looks wonderful and anixous to see it next week.
Glad I won't be competing in his class cause that is one sweet car.
Thanks! No, nothing done to the A/C, have run out of time to have it looked at before I leave. I had the compressor out of the way to paint, but it was still hooked up and does have some R12 in it, so I left it alone. It runs and it gets slightly cold, but that is about it. I would not be as lucky to just need a charge, but you never know. I had a '79 Sedan DeVille that the A/C was never touched and worked fantastic until I traded the car at 145,000 miles. It would literally frost the steering wheel where the vents pointed at it!

My car quest still can get freeze 12 if anyone would like me to bring some to Ohio meet I can. I still use it on a regular basis.
Freeze 12 is a mixture of propane and other gasses, and is not the same as R12. I wouldn't recommend it for use, because once you use it, no one wants to work on the AC units, because it will contaminate their equipment.
It might be a regional thing, but around here, no one is using Freeze 12, and I have been told that it is because of the recycling rules. I have the gauges to install 12, and the vacuum pump, but no recovery equipment, so I haven't any first hand knowledge. I only use R12 in my cars, and I only add to what is already in there. I prefer to err on the side of caution, and only use what I know is in the system presently.
