Getting ready for Hudson

Well, it may be, oh well. It was the closest color I could find at the local parts store. I know I could have got paint from Eastwood, etc. but wanted something I could easily get more of if I needed it. It did look darker on the cap....it's really not that far off from what was on there originally. At this point, I am just happy it's painted!

If you don't tell, I won't either. I know of a Cadillac engine that has only the water pump painted Ford Blue, and the rest of the engine is Cadillac Blue. I'm not saying who's car this is, but he thinks that he pulled one over our eyes. Not true.. We are all color blind when it comes to colors on an engine, since the engine colors will change shades based on age and temperature changes.

Well, as long as I don't get points off for "non-originality", it really doesn't matter to me. And, no, there is no way I am going to repaint it, it was way too much work for that. No matter what color it may be, I am happy with it--it looks way better than it did :D

You are certainly putting some effort into that Limo Shawn-Looks great and wish I had your patience. Can't wait to see it next month.

I have to keep up with the rest of you, especially you, Richard, with your new paint job!

Besides, I was ashamed to open the hood.

In an ironic twist.....I have 3 cans of Cadillac dark blue engine paint laying around....guess what color the 351 in my F150 is gonna be?:17875:

Ya'll are way ahead of me. The camera makes mine looks a lot nicer than it really is and you've inspired me to rattle can my engine area AGAIN! My Lifeliner is like the girl you picked up at 3 a.m. thinking, Damn she is sharp. Then in the morning you're willing to knaw your arm off just to get away without waking her.

See you in Hudson....

Thank you for sharing your life experiences with us..........
As a side note, I have never experienced anything like this. I set the bar much higher and never lowered it for a one night stand...

Too funny. Well, I don't know if I am ahead of you or not. Hopefully by the end of the day I will have the grille back in the car and a few other minor things finished. THEN, on Monday the mechanic is coming back to put on my new, OEM rebuilt carburetor. I had to buy one, my other one was in horrible shape when it was taken apart--a few pieces inside missing, and other things that were not good. Then the car will need to be timed, as the distributor was taken off and then state inspected.

Got the back seat and new rear speakers in last night. I also have to get to the upholster's in the next two weeks and get the headliner put in, which, JUST arrived this past week, long story. Then, finally, I will be able to give her a good cleaning and hopefully she is ready to roll. I can't wait until convention, then I can relax! Maybe I will post a few pics later if everyone isn't tired of seeing them.

Post away Shawn, I love seeing the work you're doing.

Let me tell you the story when a friend and I rode our motorcycles cross country in the summer of 1972. Spending a night the Black Hills of South Dakota I picked up a girl so fat from a bar at 3 a.m. that I had to use my buddies motorcycle to get through the hills due to a very worn chain and sprocket on mine.

Now that is funny.....

Okay, you asked for it :071:

Almost ready to run (finally!!). Everything back together and waiting to have the carb and the distributor put back on tomorrow evening. I am starting to get excited for Hudson, now that I am pretty sure I am going to make it--didn't know there for a while. Still have lots of little things to do and some stuff just isn't going to get done, but thats how it goes.

Your car is looking terrific Shawn! While you've been toiling away getting your limo ready, I seem to have been tearing mine up! In a momentary lapse of attention a couple of weeks ago I hit a guard post for my overhead door w/ the rear of my '75 M-M. I had been planning to bring that car but had discovered a cracked exhaust manifold which was giving me second thoughts. W/ the damage to my right rear quarter she'll most surely stay home as my body shop guy won't be able to fix her in time. Now I'm in a quandry of what to bring (like Danny Ryder)!

Damn I was looking forward to seeing your combo Doc! Well there should be plenty of room in high top row......hint, hint.:17875:

I would like to see Dr. Burchfield's 1972 Superior as well. Really can't wait to see Ron's 75 Hightop. That is after all the year I was born!
