Classy Cadillacs

This 1966 Sovereign Limousine combination was purchased used by the Cimarron Mortuary in Boise City, OK sometime in the 1970s. It is now owned by PCS member Matt Taylor in Missouri

This ended up at Doug Scott,s .I bought it from Doug and then to Matt from me. I bought the 72 Olds on EBay which if I remember correctly was the same firm that had the 66. Matt also bought the Olds from me.:my2cents:

You are correct; the '72 replaced the '66 in Boise City. The '72 was a very nice endloader that came from the Kitch F.H. in Liberal, KS.

1964 Kensington (WOW...what a beauty!)
Chillum-Adelphi V.F.D., MD

1968 Parkway
Riverdale Heights V.F.D., MD
(Note Mars 888 lights on front of the roof, instead of the usual Solar Ray or Fyrball lights; she has Fyrballs on the rear.)

These are from my collection, and were taken (I think) by Mike Defina and John Floyd.

'71-up Superior/Cadillac 54" cars from NY w/Dietz beacons and Solar Ray front tunnels

How's that for a "theme" post?

Farnham - 1972 was the last year for the D pillar tiara and the only year the "wet look" vinyl interior was used.

East Seneca - In addition to a third Solar Ray and #211-WW (Dietz's answer to Federal's #175 "hill light") beacons, this car features the CPR cabinetry option. This package had the rear-facing attendant seat just behind the driver; note the location of the rear switch panel on top of the left wheelhouse.

Bolivar - Here is the only rig in this group not to have the "junior" west coast mirrors, which was a Superior factory option.

Cassadaga - Note that this girl has inboard tunnel flashers, as well as the Solar Rays.

Oklahoma Sovereign Landaulets...

...or are they?

1973 - Mowery's, Owasso
1972 - Epperson's, Coalgate
1974 - Kennard's, Catoosa

The first two cars will fool you at first, but then something appears to be different. The landau bars aren't placed correctly, and the Superior "C" pillar
trim is missing. This is because these are both limousine-style combinations that were converted to landaus after their owners exited the ambulance business. The
Epperson car was originally a black-over-silver Baronet model.

The Kennard car, an endloader, is shown so you can see just how different the converted cars look from an original.

Talking about classy pictures here is a classy shot of our funeral homes 1993 Superior Crown Sovereign Cadillac endloader when I took a body to Peoria Illinois in early 2009 for a graveside service at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens. Did I mention I drove through a snow storm in central Illinois on the way there!

Here is a hearse from a funeral we attended a week ago last Thursday. A 1990 Cadillac S&S Victoria, owned by David Koch (Cook) Funeral Home in Sandusky, Ohio. It has been refurbed twice, and will be again when it needs it. He's also got a 1984 something or other in the garage that he wouldn't even let me see. It's his "secret baby". I used to do the livery work for the previous owner of this establishment. When I exited the ambulance/livery business the owner purchased my 1974 Cadillac Superior Sovereign Limo style combo. David still had it last time we were there. I asked about, he stated it's over at Cedar Point. My sons work there on HalloWeekends and are looking for it.

This photo shows the "uniforms" David and his staff wear. Very classy. The folks in the photo are Aunt Barb's son Jeff, daughter Jennifer, Jen's children, and my wife Barbara. The photos were taken at the church.

I realize this is juvenile but I can't help but chuckle over the irony of a Miller-Meteor with "Superior" on the doors.

The 71 Lifeliner from A-1 in Visalia is now owned by Jim Crabtree. Shortly after they (A-1 Visalia) acquired it all the warning equipment was removed because someone thought a Code 3 2200 lightbar with a PA-20 would be an improvement! The 2200 died and lays in a pile somewhere in my backyard, replaced by a Model 12 TwinSonic. The underside of the roof still shows where the holes were for the Super Chief and 184's.:pat:

Kevin ,i,m am the one who took that photo, i have seen the car twice it is a sight to be seen .if you want more info pcs member russ.dalziel who owns a 1971 wht m-m lifeliner that was in albany is good friends with the driver of that car.
