Pontiac procar pics

No, Rich still has his '65 Superior Pontiac. Dad bought this from past-PCS member Lew Wallace, who brought it to several meets in the past (I don't remember if Lew had it at Lancaster or not, but he probably did). It was originally from Union Fire Co. of Titusville, NJ, and served alongside George Hamlin's '53 Henney Packard ambulance, which is also from Titusville.

Thanks, Steve. I'm almost sure that it was at Lancaster, because I remembe the big SolaRay light over the cab. Glad to know Rich still has his '65. The 1965 Pontiacs were of my favorites. My '65 Consort lit up the night skies of West Texas with the twin 175s and blue Dietz 211 on top with a pair of red lollipops between the roof-mounted Q and corner beacons.

The 52 Pontiac National saw the light of day for the first time in five years this past weekend. I brought it out for the Indiana chapter's "Falloween Fest" meet in Walkerton. It still has only 29,545 miles on the clock.

Pontiac Pic

I think this is a Pontiac. Correct me if I am wrong. This was some type of civil defense drill at Punahou School, Honolulu. Nice to see you get four in there.

US Army 1963 Superior ambulance

Very nice, Adam. This once suspiciously reminds me of the '63 ex-Army Pontiac ambulance that the Ector County school district bought in 1974 when the local ambulance co. shut down, putting EMS with the fire dept. It originally had the little "M" light as seen on this Pontiac. The school district painted the car white; replaced the "M" light with a red Whelen strobe; and replaced the little EG siren with a fender-mounted 66G. It eventually ended up with a local wrecker service, and was sold out of state a few years ago.

I still say this is one of the sexiest Poncho pro-cars I've ever seen:

You would've loved my '65 Consort ambulance, Kyle. It had twin 175s on the front corners with a Q in the middle and two red pancakes between the beacons and the Q and a blue Dietz 211 in the rear. Looked nice and ran like you wouldn't believe!

'59 Pontiac, Orchard Beach VFD, Maryland. I'm reasonably sure this is a National. From the OBVFD website.

Okie dokie, I'll make the correction. I'd not seen any photos of Memphians with corner windows till now.

Memphians were not very popular in Maryland, so this is very unusual, but Nationals were.

By the way, sorry it's so blurry, that's what's on their website.

'63 Superior Pontiac Navy ambulance from Maryland.

No, it's not an original photo of THE one. This one is identical to that one (the numbers are different, tough to read but may only be one digit off). This was based at the Naval Ordinance Lab in White Oak, MD. Now, true, NOL is only about 10 miles away from the old Bethesda Naval Hospital in MD, and in the same county. But that's just coincidence. Or is it? ;)

No coincidence here; this is a '64 model.
