On The Way, Counting Down

Did they have any red similar to what was used in 1970's as well. My wheel house covers in back of Lifeliner are faded pretty good. May go ahead and replace that vinyl down road sometime! What about white vinyl?

Definitely was white vinyl may have been some red. I bought two yards, cost me 38 bucks. After pulling the panel, found the backing board had water damage, so I am completely rebuilding this back panel.

Todays Progress

In addition to spending a lot of money on vinyl, fiber board, screws, nuts, glues, etc. I also mounted the rear view mirror that had been off for who knows how long, installed the front radio, polished and re-installed the hanging hardware. Re-attached the sliding door pull that fell off who knows when. Bought a new blanket for the back and took off the torn back vinyl.

Jeremy,
How much white vinyl do you need? I have quite a bit of white, but want to keep the large bolt.

i wish that you would decide what its gender is going to be.. A couple of weeks ago, you were calling it fat albert.. Now it is a fatgirl... Is this a transgendered vehicle, that you can't decide what it is??? :d someone else described it as a fat pig, but when i asked is is male or female, they said that its get up and go got up and went. I.e. It has no... censored!

uhh uhh no bad words or name calling please.. Must be pc here...transgendered have all the rights that we no longer have...

Got to measure out first. Need to redo white vinyl pieces that go up sides and across rear door glass and toppers across #2 rear side doors, so not needing a whole lot. Will measure out this week sometime and get back to ya!

We have soap in Nebraska. Our hard work ethic requires us to use bleach and a pumas stone. There may be a little grit from the pumas left.

Well those layers of Nebraska soil preserved it well. Here is the latest in the fruits of my labor.

Thought you'd enjoy seeing this Ron. B.C. Health Minister Dennis Cocke (left) with Peter Ransford (center) and Carson Smith (right) taking delivery of their new widebody. Dated 5/74.

fat girl plate

that fat girl plate is in a county not far from me. it is several hours from Ron. guess I will have to watch for it the next time I go through the couple of towns there.
Mike

I would love to see the inside of the solid side version of the fat girl. I bet the cabinetry was futuristic for 1973. Mike, you need to lift that plate when you see it. (Just kidding, I would get pinched for receiving stolen property). I have the new backing cut out for the replacement rear panel, the old one was deteriorating from water damage. Got the new batting today, now all I need is to have some time to work on it. I keep seeing Street having all this fun with my old car, I want some fun myself.

Hey Ron, you might want to buy your cars more wisely, we did!!!! Ours was ready to go when we got it, not much work required at all.

The service that I worked for in the 70s had two of the window version "fat girls" and one with the solid side. I do not remember the cabinet layout in it.

@!#$%&

I couldn't wait to get that panel on. As I went to place it I realized............I covered the wrong side. The vinyl was ruined, the batting ruined. The board I cut is still good though. So today, back to Joanne Fabrics, more orange vinyl, more batting, and yes, Jeremy, they got your color.

Bummer, Ron who got the worst of the verbal barrage you probably let loose with , you or the panel, but it will be done right cause you do it that way....

we are all getting older !
