Well, I finally went and did it....I bought my first Professional car today. 1968 Cadillac Fleetwood 75 Limousine, with 74,200 original miles. originally owned by a funeral home in Dover, Delaware. VERY good shape and the asking price was a very good deal. Here are a few pics of her, not cleaned up yet, but couldn't wait. :071:

Well, Phil, I don't know. She has sat a long time, and even though it ran home just fine, I would have to have it completely gone over before I would trust it. I am 99% sure it would be okay, but you never know!! Thanks for your compliment. It needs a lot of little cosmetic work, but is still very presentable and I wouldn't be ashamed to show it anywhere.

It looks even better in your drive Shawn. I have to brag, I knew about this one before anybody else did but I didn't have to shove Shawn too hard to make the plunge. What a gorgeous car.
 
Congradulations... That is a sharp looking car.. How did you get Ron to clay bar and wax it??? Does it have the vacuum operated trunk lock??

Shawn, great looking limo. Hope it fits in your garage ok, looks like it will be a tight fit. Look forward to seeing in the near future?
 
Congratulations Shawn on your first professional car purchase. And what a beautiful car! My first was a Series 75 Sedan (1972). I hope you decide to let us all see it in Albany in 19 days.
 
Thanks and correction on my part...

First, a big thank you for all of your positive comments, I appreciate them very much!

Second, I hope I will not disappoint anyone, but after looking at the service manual and the vin number, it is actually a Fleetwood 75 Sedan, not a Limo....code R instead of S...still looks like a limo to me, except without the divider window. Car does have rear air unit and radio controls. Here is the only shot of the interior that I have right now....

That's a beautiful car, Shawn. Congratulations! I remember the first limo I drove was like yours. Back in the late 70s an area funeral home had traded it in to the local Cadillac dealer. Same colors as yours-that gray cord upholstery is beautiful (and VERY expensive to replace, but yours looks good). I was so impressed with that car, but I think the asking price was 3995.00 or so. That was WAY out of my reach then;I think I was still in high school. It had bias ply tires-I remember them howling a bit when I rounded a curve at a not-that-fast speed! My dad and the salesman were riding in back!
 
very nice, i look for limos to become the "hot ticket" in pro car collecting in the future, this is a great example of why i make that prediction:thumb:
 
the 75 to me would be a much more friendlier set up then the formal limo. the divider really does something unfriendly for casual use of the car.
