Jeremy, I can understand your reaction. My God is that ever ugly! This is just further proof that McPherson was right when he recently said that these new Lincoln-based monstrosities are the Pontiac Azteks of the professional car world. I was really hoping for something better from Accubuilt but this.....this is simply horrid. It appears as if Accubuilt, like Federal and Eagle, hired the same "stylists"....the renown firm of Keller & Wonder (Helen Keller and Stevie Wonder) to create these new Lincoln funeral cars. They should be ashamed.

Hideous? Absolutely. But let's place the blame where it belongs. Accubuilt can only build with what they are given. The blame for this horrid abomination belongs solely at the doorstep of Ford and General Motors, who for whatever reason, have decided that the money of loyal traditional car buyers is not of interest to them.

I'm so very glad that I have real coaches to eventually see my loved ones off in style and dignity, and if this is how the industry is going, I can only hope that when its my time, someone will see to it that I also go off in one of my own coaches and not some ridiculous yuppy soccer mom conversion.

That is UGLY!!!!!! Has Accubuilt employed a cost cutting step by letting monkeys do their design work. I am no genius but I could design a better coach than that.

Right on Ron. However, monkeys would appear to be too costly and could also probably have done a better job. I still believe that these Lincoln coaches - all of them from Eagle, Federal and Accubuilt - are the insightful products of "Keller & Wonder" design - again, that's Helen Keller and Stevie Wonder.

A new era

At that angle it looks a bit like a bloated PT Cruiser. Thanks for posting the ad. I had been wondering when Accubuilt would get around to introducing their version of a MKT hearse. Production of the Lincoln Town Car ended on Wednesday of last week. I miss it already. R.I.P. Panther platform.

The new Lincoln hearses have also been discussed on the Lincoln Club forum, and I think my two favorite quotes from over there are, "It looks like a swamp boat flipped over and landed upside down on the thing" and, "At least now the grille is in proportion to the rest of the car."

Personally, I have a hard time even choking out the word "hearse" in reference to this...thing. To me, the word "hearse" carries with it dignity and prestige. This ugly beast is sorely lacking both.

I think Accubuilt will be "downsizing" with that as their new product line.

Not their cars... their sales ! Wish you luck Accubuilt.

I GUESS THE ONLY THING ACCUBUILT HAS GOING FOR THEM NOW IS...
THAT THEY ARE THE "HOLDERS" OF THE ORIGINAL BIG NAME HEARSE BUILDERS TRADEMARKS !

SUPERIOR AND S/S

MM AND EUREKA ARE GONE TOO !

How long until Superior and S/S are gone ???

Darren

Don't think we have to worry about these illustrious brands disappearing anytime in the near future. They still have an inventory of 2011 Cadillac chassis on hand and will most certainly design a proper funeral car for the next generation Cadillac platform - which is said to be a passenger car - not an SUV. I understand that they even want to continue production of commercial glass cars if possible with the new Caddy. Until then, we'll just have to wait and see......and seriously wonder what's wrong with the eyesight or judgement of those who elect to purchase those ugly Eagle, Federal or Accubuilt Lincolns.

Epsilon platform

Obviously, it'll be critical for Accubuilt to hit a home run when they do the styling on their versions of a Cadillac XTS hearse and a limo. Will be interesting to see how things turn out next Spring.

Im NOT at a loss for words but they arent printable here! What I will say is this: Accubuilt & the others really need to seriously consider the Chrysler 300 for their base platform

I looked at it and thought, to me, it looked a bit too boxy. So I drew some changes that look better to me.

I moved the chrome strip over the windows up a few inches, and extended it all the way around the car. And I moved the landau bar down. It think it helps, and without changing the body in any way. The doors don't even have to open to the chrome strip, it's OK where they are. I just think it makes the car look a little longer and lower, and less tall and boxy.

Whaddya think? Superior, are you listening?

Junk!!

If Superior wants to enhance their tradition of quality and value, like their ad says, they... need to not build this... at all!!! Give us back our RWD Town Cars,Fleetwoods, and Roadmasters,PLEASE!!!! Throw in a Crown Vic and a Marauder, too. That'll work... Not this! Anything but this!!:boo:

Steve, Yeah, that's an improvement - it's sort like putting a bow tie on a pig - anything's an improvement and diverts attention away from the pig's face to the tie. Moving the landau bar to where it belongs was a significant help. However, it's still a pig.
