Any guesses if a 1969 hearse (unknown maker) windshield will fit a 1968 ambulance (Superior)? Did each manufacturer make their own glass, or was there a common professional size? If so, was that made by GM?

GM supplied the commercial glass and the extended windshield pillars. The side door and rear door glass is specific to the body manufacturer. Never just assume that the side glass is the same, because with some manufacturers, it changed from year to year, even though the body style remained the same. Example 1969 and 1970 Miller Meteor used different front door glass for each year, even though the doors and body look identical except for trim.
