What's it worth?

Kevin....... you should never sell a car, just add another garage. Cars are like children, you keep them for your lifetime.

I'm not certain that I will be in Ohio this summer.. I will be building my 5 car, 2 story car work garage... :specool: I will need some more cars to put into it...

You went and looked at the car. I know you said you passed on this one but where are the pictures? Your original question on the value of the car was the point of this thread. We can still discuss that since it hypothetical anyway.

I did say that and I apologize as it was raining so no pictures. After the once over in the daylight, I found that the interior needed more attention than I had thought. The front floor was pretty much totally gone and both inner and outer rockers needed to be replaced. There was also serious oxidation on the rear floor driver's side at the door. I probaby could've poked it through with a screw driver. Two pistons had been chipped at some point in time and was discovered during head gasket replacement. Despite this, they still were driving the car. However, it wouldn't start for me due to dead battery issues. There was enough oil in the valley to have filled the oil pan back up. The glass seemed decent, but the chrome did turn out to have pitting. Guy was asking 2, I would've paid 1 but apparently there were two guys trying to outbid each other for the car so when I went to look he said the current price was 2500.

The positives about the car...body was straight for the most part and the royal maroon crinkle paint was in excellent condition. The dash pad wasn't cracked but did show signs of wear. The car is definitely saveable, but it wasn't in the cards for me to be the one doing the saving. In the end the car was overpriced for the asking but the guy will get his money. A fool and his money....
