what the? 77 Cadillac

Being a 6 door car there should be some other label I would think. It could have been painted over.

definitely not a former 6 door. looks like they cut in front of the rear seats just behind the fold down seats of aa fleetwood 75. i had a 74 ambruster stageway 6 door cadillac and it was nothing like this.

second look

We went back and took a second look at this car today. what I thought were door panels are the side panels with electrical switches. No door handles. Why it was cut we may never know. the only info is that the bluegrass player was also a body guy that liked Cadillacs. I think this one will stay at the sellers lot. Some of the little voices in my head are telling me to let it be.

the door dosen't look like any 6 door center eather when you look at the back edge. dependig on how the rear compartment was confugured it might be Ok might not. still make a neet pickup Harly hauler but not much else

Does it run well? If the body and mechanics are good, since its already modified you can open up the rear including trunk and make your own flower car. Remember not all flowercars were coachbuilt and many were done at a local body shop.

does it run

John,
The seller said the old guy told him the top end had been redone in the past year or so. It starts easily. Just a bit of exhuast noise. Bad connection where someone eliminated the catalytic converter. The climate control A/C is not working. The compressor clutch turns but no cold or cool air. 4 almost new tires. Tilt and telescopic wheel. After market radio. All lights work. Brakes seem to be in good working order. Signs of oil on the bottom of the oil pan. Nothing dripping on the parking lot yet. Top of engine compartment is not show clean but cleaner than most 5 year old cars. Cut like it is this is just a toy. Cutting it further would not make a differenc at this point. It is on the 151.5 wheelbase. I like Darlene's tree fell on it idea of why the guy cut it to begin with. Supposedly this is the last of his 8 Cadillacs. Wonder what the others were?
Bottom line is this is a driveable and usable parts car.

bluegrass Cadillac

Peter,
The owner was just trying to make this stand out from the crowd. I know there are 2 sides of the coin when it comes to customizing cars, boats, or whatever. Some folks like adding their own touches to a vehicle. Some folks think they should be left the way the factory did it. This guy would rather modify a Cadillac than a Ford or Chevy. To modify or not to modify is the question. The answer is left to the owner.

I was wondering if you could remove the rear window, replace the rear seat and have an open parade car similar to a state landaulet

do you know if any of his other Cadillacs were modified?

the other Cadillacs

Darlene,
We never saw the other Cadillacs. So we don't know if they were modified or not. The seller told us that he had already sold the other 7 cars.
