what did you drive today

Probably the most fun vehicle in my fleet.....late 60's Snapper Comet..I buzzed about an acre yesterday. I saved this one from becoming scrap...it mows great and had a new B&S 8HP under an inch of dust when I got it. This winter I'm torn between restoring to original or doing a "Rat Snapper". :yum:

Driving the Freightliner today 85 miles north of Seattle. Have to go thru the Port of Entry scale house; just my lucky day, I get the Commercial Enforcement Scale Rat climb up my A__ with a microscope for a DOT inspection!

Today

Sorry, I was tired lastnight when I got home, so I'm posting this a day late. Well, yesterday evening was my town's annual Christmas Candle Walk festival. People are invited to decorate objects and bring them downtown to display to add to the atmosphere. It has became a tradition for me to decorate my 53 Ford and a firetruck to display.

So here's what I drove yesterday. The firetruck is Chesaning-Brady FD Truck-1 (1976 Mack 50' TeleSquirt originally purchased new by the Thomas Twsp FD acquired by CBFD about a year ago). Then my 1953 Ford Customline 4 dr sedan. And my 1968 Miller Meteor that I drove out to the fire station to get the truck after I had parked the 53 downtown. ;)

This what I drove ( ok walked behind ) today. We got 20 cm (8-9 inches) of the white stuff last night. this piece of crap is only 15 years old and it will NOT run when there is snow on the ground ! It run great in the spring, summer and fall as soon as I put it under load it bogs down like the choke is on ? so I guess I need the carb rebuit ??

I was so temped to go buy a new one this morning but I thought again how the 78 Horton needs tires this spring !!

The '64 has a new "garage mate", we got a 2014 Explorer XLT yesterday. Since it looks like Brad and Mandi are going to make their relationship a permanent thing, they needed a better form of transportation. Between them they have 4 daughters and it was little crowded in his F-150 Supercab. They all fit "legally" but not comfortably. Since we were going to get a new Explorer anyway, he proposed that we trade his truck and sell them the 2010 Explorer. It took a little "creative thinking" with the dealer, but Alexandra made it all happen. To qoute Phil Robertson, everybody is "happy, happy, happy"!!!

A couple photos ( it looked a lot nicer in the prep bay at the dealer yesterday).
