That's my old webshot page! about the Ford, it was restored few years ago by a cinema car rental shop:

http://www.cine-mobile.com/vehicules.php?catID=59

and if you wonder about the 1930 Lasalle, it transported the Frere Andre from Montreal Oratory...

here's an article but in french (check the pics!) It's now owned by a good friend of mine, restoration took 6 years.

http://amateurdebeauxchars.forumactif.com/t5182-ambulance-cadillac-lasalle-1930?highlight=ambulance

rumour

I had heard about an old ambulance that was parked in the back of the oratory and finally discovered by someone who restored it! Never knew the whole story or saw any pictures! This is great! what a find and a beautiful job

Robert if you got a chance to see it with your eyes it's unbeilevable!! To get my part of the "restoration" project I found him an original hat from the 40's used by the Georges Godin ambulances, the owner, who is a good friend, is pretty proud of this historical piece also:

notice they did not use any base clear on it either. that's lacquer on them doors. spraying that is better then meth

Callaway-Smith F.H. - Bryan, Texas

I've searched hundreds and hundreds of funeral home, rescue squad, fire company, and ambulance service websites over the last few years looking for procar photos, some of which I've shared in this thread. Here's another one:

http://www.callawayjones.com/our_heritage.html

Here are enlargements of the photos with cars:

1. This one shows a 1954 Ford Country Sedan, a 1953 Meteor combination, and a 1954 Courier ambulance conversion. I'm guessing that the wagon was probably the firm's "yeoman car" serving for first calls, flowers, a backup ambulance (note the red spotlights), and possibly even the owner's personal car.

2. Here's a closeup of the ambulance; note the O'Connell-approved whistle on the fender!

3. This appears to be a matchbook cover from the late 1960s. From left to right are a 1962 Mercury and 1968 Pontiac wagons as well as 1963 and 1965 S/C combinations. Warning devices on the Mercury include dual Mars FL-8s, a beacon, grille lights, and a B&M whistle.

Oh, to be able to go back in time with a camera...!
