TV auto auctions

Besides the two "Kennedy" cars, has anyone ever seen a professional car (ambulance, hearse, limousine) auctioned off on B-J, Mecum or any of the other large TV auto auctions?
 
Jim, about 10 to 12 yr ago there was a late 40's "restored" Packard at BJ. Came out of Ontario. Beautiful car and external appearance. Only problem was the rear compartment had been stipped and professionally redone like a typical station wagon. Would have been some work to retun it to original. As I recall sold for a typical BJ price of ~ 50,000. There was the 31 Cadillac last year at Bonhems. They are rare.
 
Jim, I have seen a few at Mecum, for sure. I like to watch these auctions on line, without the commentators. You can see all of the auction, without interruptions, or commercials. I know that about ten years ago, a 1966 Superior Cadillac ambulance was sold at a Silver Auction, when they were doing the auction for the Hot August Nights event in Nevada. I have seen a number of limousines sold in the recent past at Mecum. Six years, or so ago, VanDerBrink sold a Desoto ambulance. There was also a 1958 Superior Pontiac combination sold at the auction in Hershey a number of years ago. I can't recall any other specific professional cars, but I am sure that there have been others. There are quite a few collector car auctions nowadays.
 
I watched a custom hearse (believe it was a '67) cross the BJ Las Vegas stage 2 years ago. Black with gold accents.
I have photos of it in the staging area and on stage on a camera card somewhere.

I think it got 8-10,000.00

I didn't think it would have even got 5,000.00

well, I have bought cars from mecum and there has been a few ambulances and coaches for sale. I believe at last years kissimee sale there was a 8o's coach that looked stock on the outside but was made into a limo in back with tv and couches were table used to be. sold for 4500. not my kind of car but they do sell them. go to Mecum.com and sign in for free and you can see all cars past and present by using the search feature. cost nothing and actually I find it very entertaining as I like keeping track of collector car prices. I've bought 3 cars through mecum and found them to be trustworthy and honest.
 
my problem is that they do not represent the real and true price of any car. because of them more cars have been left to rust because the man that had them knew one just like it went across the block at 100,000.00 just last year. so his has to be worth 10,000. but the greed even when shown that statements made were untrue was the incident Steve was refuting to.
 
As for trying to determine fair market value for any classic vehicle Hagerty ins. does have an excellent pricing valuation listing on their website. It's totally free and can get very specific about trends.

It's considered the Bible for current values.

Might not be an issue for anyone anyways with the demise of the SPEED Channel I don't think (at least haven't heard if they do as of yet) B-J even has a television outlet to spew their excrement from as of right now!

Oh, no boo boo's. The stuff with the alleged JFK ambulance that B-J was selling, that we proved wasn't the real thing, that Steve Davis (President of B-J) called me out for on national TV, that we pressed in the national media, that cost them a lot of credibility for their claims, that they sold for a lot less than they thought. That little incident.
 
There are threads on this story as it unfolded, but cant seem to find it with a quick search. At one point we were referred to as a bunch of basement bloggers.
