TPC 135 Qtr 1 2010!!!

Still waiting in Northern Illinois. Do these magazines get mailed out at the same time when they are ready to be released or does a 1/4 of them go out today some tomorrow and more three days later?

Bulk mailings are packed in groups based on the zip codes that they are going to. The entire groupings are dropped at a postal distribution center, and are then sent from there to the various regional distribution centers. From the Regional distribution center, they are sorted, and then sent to the individual post office that handle the town where you live for delivery. Since this is a bulk magazine mail delivery, it moves slowly, based on how much room is on the truck that is carrying it forward. If the truck is full of 1st class and other higher paying postage mail, then magazines are held over for the next truck. There is never a reason that can be determined why one area will get the magazine sooner than the next area, because it never is consistent. Every area of the country has delays, and some are longer than others. Once it gets to the local post office, they sort bulk mail only after all the 1st class mail is sorted. This can add a day or two to the process. The only solution to this problem that I can see is to have magazines delivered by 1st class mail at additional cost to the member requesting this feature. I intend to bring this up for discussion at the annual board meeting. If it goes to a 1st class mailing, that will have to be an extra cost option over and above membership dues. Many car clubs offer this feature to their members, and I can't see why we shouldn't either. What the cost difference will be, I can't say, but my guess is that it might be an additional $5.00 - $7.00 per year. Some of these additional costs will be in packaging and separate handling costs, and the balance will be the additional postage.

When did you get yours?

The downside of this HIGH TECH CLUB and WEBSITE is that without it none of us would know who got what and when! MM

John: I had to look up (google) the meaning of "triumverate" to see how I could use it in a sentence this afternoon to impress my peers. My head still spinning! MM

Hah, Mike-glad I added to your vocabulary! My dad was an avid reader and always throwing words around to make us ask or look them up in the dictionary. That and hanging around lots of English professors in college and since have kept up my love of language, I guess.

Is there anyone else still waiting for this copy of the magazine ?

Last issue was about a month after the first people posted that it arrived here in Toronto.

I guess that means I should get it this week !!!

Looking forward to it.
Darren

Turtle mail

at Canada post they have a saying, neither rain nor sleet nor heavy packages will get delivered til we are good and ready,Had a postal employee tell me to shovel the snow off my walkway or risk not getting the mail ,I said its july....wish as a paramedic we could ask for the same courtesy.....

Still not got it over here either. Assumed it was because of the Icelandic ash clouds causing problems with the flights but maybe it is an international delay getting out of America.

Jon

Over seas I can understand why it may take a little longer if it did.

Having said that, I can mail unicycle parts to the UK in 4 days.

Still waiting... but it will be worth the wait Im sure.

Hope to see you and your lady in Albany in about 90 days !
Darren

Just got mine

I dont know if this had anything to do with the time factor, but the postage sticker was placed right over my address.

Amazing! It made it to Australia before it made it to B.C., Canada! Still don't have mine. Now THAT'S embarrassing. I'm going to have a word with Canada Post....if they ever get back from their coffee break! :gun1:

Makes you kind of want to put up a road side box just over the border to get mail. better check with Jeff and make sure everything is Ok with your address and membership.

I heard there was a mailing house error where the postage label got stuck over the mailing address for those outside the US.

Haven't got mine but I know they are sending out a copy to all those not in the US.

Hold tight I guess. We will get them.

Darren

I spoke to Brady about this today, and he has confirmed that the postage was put over the address label. Some postal authorities have realized the mistake and have opened the plastic wrapper and have forwarded the magazine to the address on the mailing label. Brady told me that the publisher was doing a separate printing of the magazine and resending it to all the International Members. When you get your copy, please post the information to this thread, so we can track how long it takes to be delivered...
thanks Paul

Im still waiting.

If anyone going to the MM reunion this week could bring theirs, I would love to flip through it.

If the PCS store guy is coming, I would like to buy a copy of it.

See ya soon,
Darren

It did not manage to reach Alberta either. It is good to see there is a simple explanation, so no worries. It will be enjoyed just as much in several weeks. Thanks for the updates.

Still not here yet!

Not sure about anyone else in Canada, but I still haven't received my copy yet.
