we got down to Sterling in the mid am and needed help getting the car off the trailer. Virgil made it up in the seat just fine. when he rolled it off he said said you in a couple of days and off he went. always a nice couple to spend some time with. it took us a bit to get out of there. the car looks good at home. here is one shot of the car on a park on the Iowa side of the Mississippi. the day we took it home and the day we brought it back.
This was Dad's first pro car which he purchased in 2000 after retiring from the steel mill. I remember the first time I saw it in the garage at Joe McDonald's funeral home in Rock Falls and said to myself, "Dad, what were you thinking? This thing is a mess". After looking at it for awhile, we focused our attention on another car in Joe's garage. Meanwhile my five year old daughter was busy scratching her name on the driver's door of Dad's Eureka! Of course I was horrified but Dad laughed it off and soon forgot about it. Finally after 16 or so long years and God knows how much money, (I think Dad stopped counting after the chrome came back) Dad's vision has become a reality! Nice job.
