we got down to Sterling in the mid am and needed help getting the car off the trailer. Virgil made it up in the seat just fine. when he rolled it off he said said you in a couple of days and off he went. always a nice couple to spend some time with. it took us a bit to get out of there. the car looks good at home. here is one shot of the car on a park on the Iowa side of the Mississippi. the day we took it home and the day we brought it back.

She looks beautiful Ed! You are truly a master at your craft. :applause: This was Dad's first pro car which he purchased in 2000 after retiring from the steel mill. I remember the first time I saw it in the garage at Joe McDonald's funeral home in Rock Falls and said to myself, "Dad, what were you thinking? This thing is a mess". After looking at it for awhile, we focused our attention on another car in Joe's garage. Meanwhile my five year old daughter was busy scratching her name on the driver's door of Dad's Eureka! Of course I was horrified but Dad laughed it off and soon forgot about it. Finally after 16 or so long years and God knows how much money, (I think Dad stopped counting after the chrome came back) Dad's vision has become a reality! Nice job.
Hey Dad, you're gonna let me drive it, right?:YesNo:

What an amazing restoration, I am envious of your skill Ed, there is no way I would even know where to start. As said above, you Sir are a master of your craft.

I am beginning to see some patterns here. Some Members like the work of bringing a procar back to life as their enjoyment, some like to just own and cherish their cars and others do both.

Kandy is just tired. Still in the process of understanding what made it's presence known a Gettysburg. we hit a window beteen appoitments were we could get the car down when the weather was still decent also. I enjoyed working on this one would have liked to have done more. as everthing you did reviled one more thing. it was rough. we trust it's second life will be better then it's first.

I do enjoy working on them seeing the consruction metheds used by the different manfactures is a eye opener. I know how Tom got into building them
BUT NEXT is this 53 sedan deliver and maybe we can get some stuff done on the crown . brakes on it right after we take car of the oops on the tralier.
