Check out the pix posted on the Hemmings blog of a recent display of funeral coaches in Spain: http://bit.ly/wo4KDP . One small sample is attached.

While post-World War II Spanish hearses are nowhere near as elaborate, this doesn't mean they can't be intriguing! During a high school trip I took to Spain in 1978, I can still vividly recall our tour bus being passed outside Toledo by a locally-made (under license by the Barreiros diesel engine concern), 1965-66 style DODGE DART hearse with an extended wheelbase, one-piece windows for each side of the casket compartment, and a rooftop crucifix. Definitely one of those delectably wierd sights I wish I'd had a camera for!
Another blog that same Spanish photographer submitted pictures to. This link has more/different images plus additional coaches from around the world. You'll recognize a few.
