Being restored for a fd in VA.

My "slamming" statement is based on comments I've heard at gatherings, from members & onlookers, akin to the prejudices against caskets, flames, rods, etc. I don't know how anyone can bad-mouth Jamie Boles' GMC, but I've heard it. There are comments about the rough ride vs. patient comfort & the lament of truck chassis taking the place of limos. I regret that too, but the required ambo equipment won't fit in an enlarged station wagon. Even if it would, not very likely the taxpayer's gonna put up with their tax dollars buying Caddys. And how unfortunate the minimal comfort provided to those who staff the Type III cut-away van ambulances, particularly where they must sit their shift roadside, awaiting dispatch. So, along wih the misplaced "Ghost Buster" moniker, the "Why-do-you-drive-THAT!?", and all the other nonsense, the owners of truck chassis-based rigs count somewhere between Michael Richards and Paula Deen. Your mileage may vary.

have the myth of those rotten narrow minded PCS is from people with a preconceived notions and a thin skin. bring a Chevy to a Ford meet your going to hear a few snide remarks. it's obvious from your comments you know the format for a PCS meet. sorry we are not into ambulances we are into Pro cars some of which happen to be ambulances. not all are Cadillac we are also not into Goth at our meets. so if you know this why walk into the room with a chip on your shoulder swinging? we are all car nuts and like to see anything saved and rebuilt in any manner. but the goal of the club remains the same the restoration and preservation of professional cars in there manufactured manner and I'll not apologize to anyone for that goal. now we have welcomed you and your truck. expressed interest in it and a desire to see it . why do you keep jabbing at me.

Many of you will recognize it as the Junglesville car from CW Coach. Purchased it from Carl Woener last fall. It no longer says Junglesville! I have researched to the original owner-Bunting Ambulance Service, Toledo Ohio. More recent photos soon on this one.

Ok Darren, since you asked nicely...

I bought a pro car. Enjoy the pictures.

1947 Miller Duplex. Unknown history. Person that I purchased car from had owned it since '06, purchased out of Maine for spare parts for a '47 Limo he owns. Car has a Pennsylvania license plate and inspection sticker, which both expired in '98.

As a Bunting car, it would have been all white. Very plain cars, and probably the classiest ambulance company in Toledo for years.

Correct, it was all white originally. I have the original new car delivery paperwork from Cadillac showing this car delivered to Bunting Ambulance Service 10/25/72. It was painted it's current color scheme in 1984 when it's second owner Spencerville, OH, Fire Dept, operated the car from 84-until the early 90's. If you have any info on the now defunct Bunting ambulance company, let me know.

Jack,

Here is that GMC I mentioned to you. I was told it was at one time an ambulance but honestly I don't know anything about the older GMC ambulances to know if this was true.

Highly unlikely with the second row seat and without panel doors.

All I know was I was told it was originally an ambulance but like I said I don't know these well enough to know. I can assume the second row seat was added along with the custom roof rack at a later date. I agree with the back panel doors but I have seen odd back doors on these older ambulances, and even station wagons.

Here is an image I just posted of an Olds Vista Cruiser station wagon where you had to lower the glass on the back door to load a patient
