some times you just got to fix things

still have a little trouble with the 53. it acts like a fuel problem. so with that and I can't get the vacuum wipers to work right. though we would rebuild the fuel pump. replacement are not around any more so it's put a kit in. this is not the first time for this I could tell. smoothed up the mating surfaces and went to replace the valves. the keeper for the fuel side that holds them in place is spring steel I was holding it in my hand when it broke in three pieces. no spring left in that steel. so what to do make one. its not spring but it's thick enough till it rusts. i don't think I'll beat flat rate on this repair
