Snowmageddon

and exactly why was there a prob with just putting it in the river to start?? just curious.

It is claimed that the road salts and deicing compounds will kill the fish and other aquatic life. These salts are filtered out as the water travels through the ground on the way to the rivers. That way, we only have salt compounds contamination in the ground, but not the river... :burp:

or as we pile it along the bank of the river it will melt and run right in. Greens say that the oil from cars that travel over it is bad for the fish to. in fact greenies say that all of man kind is bad for the planet. for some reasion un knowen to the rest of us we all listen to them and do as they say.

Round II

Well, Round II of Snowmageddon is on now. After our 2 1/2 feet of snow last Saturday, we've added another foot of snow, with high winds, so far today. Maryland isn't used to this much snow.

I can now barely see my garage. At least the flat roof of the garage isn't too likely to collapse - with the wind, there's not much accumulation on the roof, it's all blowing off! Several fire stations have collapsed , and one even burned down after the roof collapsed last night!

Compare this morning's photo with the one from the other day. :letitsnow:

John D., if you've got a spare bedroom there in Tucson, I may take you up on your offer! ;)

Aftermath of Round 2

:agree:Thought I'd add my two cents' worth--from 30 miles south of you, Steve. Down here, it's been bearcat country...was going to send photos with this message, but the attempted upload of them to the Website failed.

So far here, we've had 82 inches of snow this winter, and we ain't done yet!

See you in Flint, where I'm sure the weather will be better.

What snow

I didn't keep track of how much snow we had. My Metro got me to work every day:thumbsup: and when I needed the hearse to do a swapmeet, all I did was shovel a path to him and watch about a foot or so blow off as I went down the road at about 65 MPH. I fix wrecked cars for a living. SNOW IS MY FRIEND.:D:D:D

Just thought I'd wrap up this thread about our big Maryland double-blizzard. It snowed first on 2/5/10, and we had 4 feet of snow falling (and more drifts) that week. We've had piles and piles of snow here. The garage was not accessible, and we had to dig just to get in/out of the house. :snow2_smi:

Fortunately, our garages did not collapse and everything is OK.

Well, here we are, 5 weeks later, and this is the very last little bit of snow left from it. It was only last week that the snow was melted enough to get a car out of the garage. Now, it's gone and this little pile by the front door is all that's left on our property. I just wanted to say "goodbye" and let everyone know that Spring is finally here. :657:
