seafoam does it work?

Mike,
Seafoam seems to be the automotive cure all for the present. We had emmisions testing mandated for a period of time. After hearing many stories about Seafoam I bought a can. I took my 1991 Chevy Caprice to the test center. They tested it and it failed. Not by much but they were not going to certify my car. I left the test station. I poured the Seafoam in the gas tank and went across town to the other test station. I made sure the tank was close to empty. With the few gallons of gas and the Seafoam the car passed. Not by a big margin but it passed. Was it the Seafoam? Was it the test equipment?
I have used it in other cars and it seemed to help for a bit. Nothing works better than a good tune up or rebuild. But in a short term need I think the stuff works.

I can attest to it 'fixing' my Saab. When the alternator died a few months ago, the car ended up sitting for about a month before getting repaired. Once I was using it again, and for about two full tanks' worth of gas, it had a really rough idle. I then put some Sea Foam in with a quarter tank of gas, and within a day the car's idle was perfect again.

This sounds like my Continental Mark III. I may have to try the Seafoam in it.

YES it does....

I have been using SEAFOAM for well over 3 years now...
With Californias "Oxygenated" fuel....you really need somthing that helps these older vehicles....
I was told by a 42 rear mechanic for GM ..that this stuff is the real deal...so I started to use it..... and I have had no problems with my ambulance,or any of my other classic cars......NO run on,NO rough idling,NO hard starting....better fuel economy...and no fouled plugs......\
Around here O'Reillys puts it on sale for $6.99 every few months..and I buy 2 cases of 12 cans...lasts me till the next sale......thats alot cheaper then engine troubles and the headaches they bring.......
I would recommend it !!!:myopinion:

Sea Foam

A Minnesota-based company, Sea Foam has been a corporate sponsor of the PCS Northland Chapter for 6 years. They do not provide us with monetary contributions, but have been very generous with all Sea Foam products, which we have distributed in goody bags at various chapter meets. Sea Foam will be a name associated with the 2014 PCS International Meet in Rochester, MN.

I always keep a supply of Sea Foam Motor Tune-Up, Deep Creep, and Bugs B Gone on hand. I always use Sea Foam as a fuel stabilizer in the classic cars, lawn equipment, and snowblower. I've never had a problem; the product does what it claims to do.

I agree. Ive used their products for over 20 years. Be sure to check out our previous discussion that Darren posted, it should answer any questions.

I recently started using it in my Chevy pickup with over 300k miles and it has given me a few miles per gallon back as well as smoothed out the idle.

For me it has been a cure all. While attending the 2012 International Meet my Lifeliner ran like crap, Dan Herrick can atest to this. I thought it may need a new carb or at least a rebuild. Paul Steinberg mentioned to run some Seaform through it and pour some down the carb. I poured 1/2 can down the carb little bit at a time and put the rest plus another can in the tank. Within the first day I noticed an improvement. Since then I've used another can in the tank and the Lifeliner runs like a new one. I have since used a can in the Buick with improved results. Need to look for it on sale at some of the parts stores since at $10 a can from Wal*Mart it can be a bit pricey.

Sea foam is a super product.I've used it in all my small engines for many years. also put a can in every time i fill up my procar. It helps to protect all engines from the effects of ethanol, and helps preserve fuel when a vehicle or small engine is stored over the winter:drive2:

I have also used lucas oil additive for many years, both for engine and transmission oil,it works great!!!!!

When I ran it, I put it in a vacuum line to the engine, not the tank.

TIP: If you put it in the vacuum lines get a can of Deep Creep by Sea foam, it is the same product as the bottle, just in an aresole can. Makes it alot easier to get in there.
I learned that from their website.
