Say What? A Topless Hearse

He calls it a project car, but I only see it as a parts car. Have to wonder what he was thinking when he cut the top off.

Probably thinking of a one of a kind "rat rod",but to answer your question what was he thinking, he wasn't,question if he saved the top could it be brought back?

I have a friend with a '40ish Henney landau carcass(body only from the cowl-back) which is exactly what would be needed to turn this parts car back into something. My friend would love to get rid of it!

Seems we need to hold a class in attaching photos again.

Yes, sadly LIFE gets in the way....

Seems we need to hold a class in attaching photos again.
Sorry, got news my Brother-In law had a stroke 2400 miles away so, had to fly out the door and deal with getting my wife on a plane and running the business alone for 5 days. I know I am capable of 'cut and paste' but, I will try and do better, Kurt......when things settle down

Looks as if it may have been a Henney Custom Landaulet when built. Could have been either a straight landaulet or a town car landaulet. If we could get a shot of the Henney serial plate (if it is still on the car), we could identify exactly what this once was. In either case, it was a rare bird. Too bad.

Can anybody read the numbers stamped into the cowl? These may tell us something about the chassis - Eight or Super Eight. There also appears to be a serial plate attached to the cowl on the left. Wish we could get a close-up of that. If it is a Henney plate, it may help in making a positive identification of the body style.
