Sad 1974 Superior Cadillac

Cadillac Hearse 74 model. Has 501 engine. Runs. Has slight rust on the bottom of the doors. Interior needs a good cleaning. The body is by Superior. Has a new battery and new water pump. $1,900. What a deal!!

So why is it sad? I found this coach at Smith Funeral Home in Richland, GA while hearse hunting in south Georgia in 1999. At the time, it was a back up coach at the funeral home, kept spotless and covered, and was in trophy worthy condition. At the time, it was the nicest pre-1976 coach I had found outside of our club. Years go by, and I every now and again I see the pictures I took and think to myself, I should call them. Obviously, I never did. Now what's sad is that sometime ago, they basically quit using it. And on top of that, the carport that covered it was blown away in a storm (although not damaging the coach). What happened after that is years of outdoor storage and neglect. The Craigslist pictures make it look decent enough, but I am told by someone who's seen it in the last thirty days, it's a project car now thanks to the mold, the rust, and the rot (may still be worth a look yourself though, since that description's word of mouth). That also explains why the price has since dropped by half....

The lesson here? If you know of a gem, keep track of it, and don't let this happen!

Have considered this car, alittle rough for the price. We did sell a hearse after funeral director I know went to buy it and thought it was sooo bad he didn't take it and came and bought one from us.
