Rance Bennett's Version of the Lincoln Hearse

Cadillacs all gone?

I'll be curious to see photos of a real one. I see from Rance's website that he has run out of Cadillac DTS W29 chassis. It was probably the reason he was compelled to build on the MKT platform.

I get the impression Accubuilt has also exhausted their supply of 2011 Cadillacs. They haven't been listed as a Cadillac Master Coachbuilder for the past few months.

Cadillac hearse builder National Specialty Cars appears to have called it quits. Possibly the demise of the DTS hastened their exit from the coach building biz.

Still waiting for Krystal to introduce a MKT hearse.

Although these look marginally better than those from Eagle, Federal, Superior or S&S.....they appear to be artwork and not photos of real cars. I could be wrong but, they just look to be very good artistic images. Again, apallingly styled - landau bows too high or misplaced, waist line to thick (the cars look obese) and the windows are all too narrow (they look a bit like machine gun nest slits). Unusual for Rance who has done some impressive work but, alas, it appears that he too has employed Keller and Wonder to design these cars. The more I see from these firms, the more I worry that there is absolutely no style or design talent left in this industry. A sacry thought that does not bode well for what will be done with styling, balance and overall appearance with the up-coming Cadillacs.

I like the third one the best. The limo style comes in second, but needs drapes. I am not a fan of coaches with no drapes.

My 1941 Henney-Packard had no drapes when new, designed that way. That's different. I agree, the Lincoln needs drapes real bad. If I bought one of those it would get drapes before I used it............

Is pretty difficult to design a respectable looking coach when the base vehicle is ugly to begin with. Lincoln didnt give Rance, Accubuilt or Federal much to work with. I still think the Chrysler 300 nis the best platform out there to convert.

Not sure if anyone has thought of this or not but 2012 possibly be the first time in history (maybe since 1945 during World War II, I may not be totally correct on that though) there will be NO Cadillac chassis based hearse or limo built since the first Cadillac chassis hearse was ever built!

I just finished the video for the MKT by Accubuilt. I guess the "Swing door" is optional now. I hate the hatch style door.
