I hit the bed last night and kept dreaming of tailfins...creaking doors.....musty coach smells.....and hearing the Scooby Doo theme for some odd reason.....I awoke a few times from nightmares of Pillsbury Doughboys and FREE CANDY  :yum:

SOLD....

My dad had one of these in the early 70's along with a vintage Econoline. I still love em.

Cue the Munsters theme please....

This one almost snuck by me as the rust damn near hid a very important feature that made this car somewhat rare in it's day and even rarer today. Jeremy almost made "googlyeyes" at this one! :yankchain:
A Miller Meteor Crestwood!
IMG_2536_zpsefcdf5c8.jpg

:applause::applause::applause: A huge thanks go again to Scotty for having us and to his family for tolerating us!

Is that Crestwood being parted out? If so, what is the condition of the curtain set?

I was one of the fanatics that decided to arrive Thursday. I left the house around 9 am and met Kent Dorsey's father in law along the way to pickup some stuff and then I was off to Greensboro to drop off a bunch of Mustang parts I had sold last month. Not planning to hit Creedmoor till suppertime I had some time to meander a little bit. I've known of this car for ages and finally got the chance to stop and shoot it ( with an appointment). I think I shot the equivalent of 4 rolls of film on it. :yum:
A 72 Superior Cadillac Coupe de Fleur. Original owner....NOT FOR SALE!
(not like I tried)

Met up with Darryl and Atti at a WallyWorld to stock up on supplies a while later and we went on to Scotty's. Scotty, Darryl, Atti and I proceeded to chill and shoot the breeze. It was great to finally meet Darryl....( I wont say nuffin bad here).....Scotty I had met like 15 years ago and we hit it right off like we saw each other last month. Atti became the weekend tour guide and soon we all were wandering around BS'in bout cars. I think the 1st walkabout took me 2 hours and I was able to water the yard with all my drool. It was and still is simply mind numbing.

An AQC Olds resting out back.

Seeing the Wellsboro car brought back a flood of memories from my old S&S hightop and the car is simply awe inspiring. We all sat into the night chillin when finally it was time to get our rooms and eat.
The next day saw us "decorating" Scotty's yard a tad....other than that it was more or less a designated "chill day".

Darryl decided he wanted to feed us all later that night and shocked us all by doing some kickass homecooked cheesesteaks! Lemme tell ya......they was GOOD, and the tater salad was as well! Thanks go to Darryl for supplying AND cooking us all dinner Friday night! I know I will elaborate on this weekend more as I find the time...

My time seemed at a premium more so than anyone else between giving nickel tours, answering questions, phone, and email. Adding all that up unfortunately led to far fewer photos taken than normal.

One plate holding 3 peppers also held 3 firsts: First time ever eating chorizo chili rellenos. (Pure numminess!!!) First time ever not able to sleep resulting from a meal. First time I ever subsequently ate Tums (which occurred with breakfast after swimming).

Most viral hearse to come out of Mexico saw light of day for first time in 6+ years. Although remaining unrestored original, it has been gone through mechanically, wheels powdercoated, new Coker WWW bought...but not all of those wheels/tires have made their way on yet.

Darryl brought a commercial griddle and provided cheesesteaks for everyone Friday evening. He made enough food for 50 people and none was left over.

Wellsboro was most popular coach not belonging to host.

Although I'd seen pics of Maverick's casket car previously, first time I was able to check it out in person. Still can't believe a Chevy small block was shoehorned in.

Neither has seen daylight since '91. Refer back to first time visitors experiencing sensory overload.

Staging for journey to second property. Would have gone smoother had leader told us he needed to stop for fuel - that's for sure!

Skipping second property entirely and moving to third. (Guess I didn't have 5 seconds to take a single shot there.) Pulled '70 MM out for easier gas tank access. Thomas needed it for his Lifeliner. Stephen Everhard was removing rocker stainless and clips here.

Josh happily scored $5 yard art.

Insects were bad in this yard. Rollback and Darryl's Whistle Pig pull truck were people movers here.

Had to stay sharp with branches cracking back. Gentleman in leather hat is FD William Lum, whose hearse had burned.

Chris drove his restored '59 CDV down from Eastern MD shore - over 6 hours each way. His fuel pump crapped out luckily still within city limits. With a busy rollback close, '59 hitched a ride back to house. Between all the combined mechanical knowledge on site and pulling a fuel pump off a '60 there, car was fine once again. Bonus is that Chris can now change a fuel pump in 3 minutes flat.

Oh and Paul Yates, we heard story of last time you recently tried visiting your "good friend". Effin' h i l a r i o u s.

At least one Dead Ends member knew how to park. :p

Whistle Pig repositioning Dave Ware's Superior. This was the second of three times trying to rectify weight bias.

Few coaches will probably sell as a result of attendees having time to think. Nice original '72 Crown is one. Here's a hint - looks good next to Wellsboro doesn't it?

Those of us riding on the back of Darryl's tailgate called this "Redneck Disney World".

Ooooooh a 66 Superior!............Looky a 442 Convertible:p......WOW a 56 S&S Hightop! :)

The non procar stuff was equally as cool! I dont know if Jeremy was pondering becoming a Metropolitan owner.

This found a new home as well. The Superior it kept company in the woods for many years.

Scotty is a master at running a rollback.

What was so cool to see was EVERYONE helping anyone needing help.

Some personal weekend scores from attending. What I initially thought were '57-'58 Superior window inserts are actually '59-'60 Superior Pontiac ambulance, which I believe were also used in '59-'60 Superior Cadillac non-Crown combinations. (Thanks Kent! Even if I didn't end up currently having a coach to put them in...) Pair of '61-'64 Superior Crown (and Sovereign) landau irons and a fairly decent brown Superior first aid kit. Rounding off with a pair of early MORNING GLORY nameplates that I'd been after for awhile.

Sniff, sniff.....I was meeting Kent Dorsey with goodies along I-40 about this time last week on my way home from the "Event".... a few more digital memories....Flower cars..and I forgot to shoot one.

My 04 Grand Caravan hit a whopping 70k miles on this trip after owning it for 9 years. 2 1972 Superior Flower Cars in one week.
