Pontiac Hearse on MECUM Auctions

Buy them all... it is only money, and you can't take it with you. Besides, if Terri divorces you, then she will have her pick of some cool rides... :4_11_9:

all right lest just say it looks to me like a 53 acme. with aftermarket 54 chevy tail lights and a 54 grill. the split windshield is 52. there are a number of things off with that car. I'm not sure of you could put the 52 glass in a 53 body the may be the sane opening and just removed the divider in 53. the long wheel base no center door body is different. be easy to get it back right just swap the nose and the windshield. wounder what the title calls it. whoops typed before i looked again it a reflection on the glass that looks like a divider. 53 body that's been added to.

a look on the inside shot confirmed that. it's a 53 body with a 54 front clip and aftermarket Chevy taillights. they put the 53 moldings on the 54 fenders.
the stretched 2 door body with only one window really looks different. from what I can tell the front door rear corner is rounded off. with a drip rail going around it and down. the only round ones were Bernette and acme. Memphis, National and Superior have square corners. just like the pontiac's. the acme used that small side window and that style drip rail. the Barnettes I have seen the drip rail goes all the way back.

Agree w/ Todd that it is a reflection.

Nice vehicle w/ a lot of work done on it, however as to
be easy to get it back right just swap the nose and the windshield
It would take a whole lot more to get back to original (if that is what you meant). For a modified I think it looks good as it sits.

I'm thinking this one is the the one that was posted on the other site. body shop re did it for a home. both i the mid west. it has a 350 and auto, vintage air condition and air bag suspension if I'm right. they were going to put it back in service. as I didn't have one and it had been so modified I never scarfed a picture of it.. but as I remember it was a vary nice job. this is a sharp car I really like the 54 nose. I don't see any ghost flames or I would say this is the same car. now I have that labled 54 barnette but that not a 54 body eather. seams strage there would be two of them

A friend of mine looked at the flamed hearse in Michigan a couple years ago.
The guy wanted 20,000.00 if I remember correctly for it.

It never had wipers. A few other reasons he never got it.

I can see the ghost flames in all of these pictures. Looks like the same car.

Description confirms it:

DESCRIPTION
The hot-rod hearse is an exclusive yet enduring segment of the automotive pantheon, one well illustrated by this subtly modded 1953 Pontiac “bone wagon.” Restored 5 years ago, it features an $18,000 custom paint scheme playfully highlighted with ghost flames, the effect of which is emphasized by rear-mounted flamethrowers! The interior, always a big part of any custom-hearse theme, is full of such convenience and luxury touches as air conditioning, power steering and brakes, tilt, cruise control and power seats, and passengers are swept along under the power of a 400 CI V-8 crate engine and 350 Turbo Hydra-Matic transmission.

what to me is surprising is how fast the hot rodders get tired of a car. you see one done up, it's a sharp car the next time it surfaces it's had a half dozen owners. the right had hing door was a Hearse thing on them to. see a few combo and hearses that the door was reversed on. what I can't believe is with this one up for grabs why anyone would even think of a pony car or vet? this car has it all and some one else payed to have it done. if there are no wipers on it you could put on the electric ones for around 300 getting the transmissions would not be that hard. it looks like they still have the holes and put bullets were they would be.
