Photoshopped or real?

This is a real amber lens for the 360 Ful-Vu-Lite. I have been told that the Ful-Vu-Lite could be ordered with the choice of clear, red, blue, amber, or green lenses. This is the first time that I have ever seen anything other than red. Now, the quest is on to find examples of the other colors.

A clear glass would be a nice find! Do you have the story behind your mistery lens Paul? Where it was ordered, pictures on a car, etc?

It came with no information as to its history, except that it was from a non functional light, but we could concoct any story we like about its history. Who is going to come up with its first tale???
I will start..

It is from the Miller Meteor Cadillac ambulance that went over the cliff in the movie Avalanche. It survived the crash, and the subsequent fire, and was taken as a souvenir by the stunt man. It was sold by his wife to pay his bail after he was arrested for stealing the lens, which was studio property..............

Paul...that's a good story, but completely false. You see, the Ful-Vu-Lite was actually invented shortly after the automobile. With traffic problems in the not too distant future, Henry Ford developed a system to control automobiles at busy intersections. Only the red, amber and green lenses survived the trial period. The clear and blue ones were never put into production.
Actually, the whole system failed. You see, when cars approached the intersection, the nature of the light was such that all directions had the same view...thus, when it was green - everyone saw green! Eventually, the modern traffic light was introduced, and still serves us today. :my2cents:

What silly, made up stories! This is clearly the light that was mounted on the motorcycle escort that was traveling in the motorcade in Dallas when JFK was killed. It was immediately sent to the FBI lab in Washington for blood splatter testing. It was flown on airforce one and then a navy ambulance before it was personally picked up by J. Edgar Hoover. After the test showed no evidence (some feel J Edgar ran it through his dishwasher at home before the tests to dystroy evicence) it was sold to the ACME alarm company who installed it in the Watergate builiding where it signaled a break in during the early 1970's. After the break in, it was given to the Southern Memphis Ambulance & Recreational Trailer Assessory Sales & Service (known as SMART ASS) where it was installed on a new 1977 Cadillac hearse used to transport Elvis Presley after his death. This light cover blew off the hearse during a road trip several years later, exposing the electrical components to the elements and causing a fire that destroyed the white Cadillac hearse. The lens remained in a freeway ditch for sometime until it was found by a prison chain gang cleaning the ditches. It was smuggled out of the prison by an inmates wife who hid it in her easter bonnet and she listed it on Ebay....Paul purchased the light there!
