ORIGINAL NOS Voltage Regulator 1967-1970

the solid state one goes with the small round alternator I think they were 60 amps. the suburban had one of them

This is the one for the 130 amp alternators, however, it can be used with any alternator that uses that same 4 prong plug. I have seen them on eBay for as little as $25 and as much as $125, plus shipping for both of them. I already have spares, and they don't usually go bad. Today, the problem is finding the other parts that are internal to the 130 amp alternator, and even when you have the parts, finding someone that knows how to work on it, is even harder. All the old technicians that knew these old dinosaurs, have turned into old dinosaurs themselves. I have the knowledge, and I have some of the tools, however, I lack the ambition to put my hands into them, because they are tricky to work on, and if you make a mistake, then the whole unit can go bad. Once you let the smoke out of them, it is very difficult to put the smoke back in.
