One thing or another...

I got the Lifeliner out earlier this week for a car show with the "Ga-Father" and low and behold the high pressure line on the power steering pump blew a hole.

So as I wait for the hose to arrive I have Joe (my mechanic) installing new exhaust gaskets once again. I need to have the Lifeliner roaring as we get into the fall months with tons of car shows and events happening.

Never ends with old cars!!!:4_11_9:

PS: Terri left today for her new job in Fort Myers and I'm left sitting here with a heavy heart. Missing her lot's already.

If your changing the exh manifold gasket more than once, remove the manifold and have it plained flat. That will solve that pesky problem.

I've heard that you need to retighten the bolts after you drive it. I didn't know this until after mine started leaking again.

both of them are necessary tasks. be glad you did not have any trouble when the hose went. been more then one old car go up in flames that way. man I hate to put them on. never get the one on the steering box to start.

Do the things mentioned above, plus buy copper gaskets. They will ofrm better and last longer. I did this on my car with headers and they havent started leaking yet, 8 years later. I check once a year to make sure the bolts are tight.
