Very nice posts, Steve. One unusual unit I saw recently was based with the Seminole VFD in Seminole, TX. Gaines County has been using the TraumaHawk Type III ambulances for a number of years now, replacing the Type IIs and Suburbans used in the county in the past.
What I found at the Seminole fire station was a whilte and gold-colored 1997 Type III Ford TraumaHawk ambulance that has been converted into a mobile command/communications center for the department and for Gaines Co. The squad bench has been removed and the cabinetry rearranged to accomodate a large communications console with radios for Fire, L.E. and EMS for that entire area of West Texas.
