Intersection lights

Miller Meteor's idea of both side and front warning light mounted on the fender.... As a side note, I find it strange that this car would wind up in a salvage yard, with a new white wall tire on the front right. Note that the blue protective coating hasn't been removed.

I have seen the intersection lights in doubles yellow and red. they were the standard recessed lights. you can at the parts store. I have them in the jeep for tail lights and the 70 for backups. 4 inch hole if I recall. what we forget is that people added to these cars a lot. so style and type of light would depend on who put it in. you can get the lights in either a single or double filament bulb in any of the standard colors. now me I always though they look cheap.

In most cases I would agree, however the rear fender Cadillac side marker lights which I linked, those I feel are the only exception.

I think they add a little "class" to the vehicle while at the same time adding the extra light which they are intended for. I saw one on an ambulance where instead of installing it on the rear quarter panel they had installed it on the front fender.

I also think it depends on the year model, and the actual car whether it crosses the line of good taste. If it does become too gaudy or over the top, then look for it in Mikes McGeehan's garage :D

This light, on the rear fender of my '70 M-M, is also a Cadillac factory marker light. It doesn't flash.

(By the way, the lens for this light was supplied by a nice man in Huntington, WV, who saw my ambulance while we were filming the movie "We Are Marshall" there. I was missing the lens, and he told me he had the correct part at home. The next morning, he had left it on my windshield, no questions asked, no charge. Great folks.)

I have to assume the reason anyone would add an additional rear marker light is so that it would flash and be an "extra" flashing light that helps make the car more visible.

As if trying to make a huge red and white land yacht more visible was really needed, it's probably more just a "Bling" factor.

James,
I'll take all those gaudy, bad taste-mobiles you can find. My motto " There's no such thing as too much bling" !

Those are Mars 888s on the fenders. Are you sure that you would want to work around those in doing mechanical work??

If they are installed correctly 2 bolts and 2 bullet connectors remove them so they are out of the way. Chicago used them in bulk...

BTW I found it very hard to find these brackets. I had to make mine

the 888s on the fender were for coming up on a car from behind. they were attention getters. same roof or fender mounted. in the city driving conditions they would be necessary. the set that you see on the Michigan cars on the side of the top were for collision avoidance also. if some one waited to cut a rear side marker into the front fender it could be done and it would look better then the round with the big lip. but you want lights get a hight top CB. now there was a rig that came with a few
