I'm going to the SHOW!!!

don't mean to make such a big deal out of this but to ME is IS a big deal!!!
I just got back my vacation request form I filled out in the beginning of December and it was approved!!
I am very excited and this should be an AWESOME show!! This will be my 3rd PCS International Meet. I was at Kingston in 2000 with my coach and in Pittsburgh in '03/'04?? without my coach. I had a great time in Kingston and started having a great time in Pittsburgh but got seriously horribly SICK after eating at a resaurant down the street from the hotel and MISSED the entire day of the show and the dinner!!
I must now work on getting my coach (Miss Lydia-1976 Superior Cadillac Sovereign Regal) mechanically ready to travel!!! She will NOT look anywhere near "perfect" but will certainly be "acceptable" in appearance (would still like to restore her to her original blue someday!!) I'm certain I will be asking for help throughout the process and of course I am sure I will easily get answers/suggestions from many of you!!
Look very forward to seeing many of you again and meeting many more of you in person for the first time!!
see you there??!!

Dana Bennett.

going to the show

Dana,
Glad you got your vacation approved for the show this year. When you get as old as some of the rest of us you can just grab the keys and go. See you there.
Mike

Congratulations on having your vacation approved, Dana. I recently was able to get "official" approval on my vacation time as well.

I think for many of us, one of the things that begins the building of excitement of an International Meet is having vacation time approved. See you in Ohio!

Glad to hear that you have gotten the time off to attend!

On the note of Lydia being perfect... We will be happy to see her and you at the meet regardless of her condition! What is perfection anyway? Looking forward to meeting you and seeing your coach!

I just got mine approved yesterday. 3 weeks off first time ever. Now, as long as I don't do the same as last year and try to fix things myself, I should be able to take the 67 along for the ride......along with Susan!!!

Looking forward to see you all there.

I know what you mean Dana. I have been to the last three PCS meets, but haven't had my own car to bring. I have gone with my parents and their car, but this year is exciting as I will have my own to take. I am working on it this winter to get it ready, but it sure won't be in concours shape and I am certainly not planning on getting anything--for me, it will just be the fact that I have my own there. :specool:

You definitely have the right idea Shawn, it's all about the friends you meet & the drive there & back. If you need a trophy to validate your hobby you're in it for the wrong reason. Rock chips, scratches, and dings are the badge of a car that's driven & enjoyed. You've earned a spot on the concourse just because of your enthusiasm in the hobby, same as the rest of us. I'd be proud to have your limo parked next to all my heaps!

Our son Brad has a buddy in Sandusky who, along with his Dad, happens to own a 1964 (maybe63) Cadillac Superior combination. Last time I saw the car it was in pretty good condition. Mike (his dad) used to work for me. We're trying to talk them into bringing the car to Hudson this summer. We'll see what happens.

Failing that, Barb and I will be there for sure, AND we may be able to arrange a special "guest apperance" by Mr. Zachary. You just never can tell what's gonna happen around here!!

Thank you. Well, as much as I wouldn't call your vehicles "heaps" I DO understand what you are saying. I have met some wonderful people and made many friends through PCS and hope to make many more. Only bad thing this year will be that I will have TWO vehicles to clean and get ready. :pat: Will we see the Pinner there this summer?

Dana, Maybe we can all meet somewhere and ride out in a little caravan. I think some of the guys in Rochester are going as well. My poor car needs a lot of help but I'd still like to drive her out there if I can. I'm very excited to see all these beautiful vehicles and meet everyone!

On behalf of the 2011 Meet committee I'm so glad to see the interest shown by the members. I assure you we are working hard to make everyone feel welcome, and to have one of the most enjoyable and memorable meets that we can produce. I look forward to seeing you all there.:thumb::thumb::thumb:

Great news that things are coming together, Dana and others, for you to be there. Bring your cars, even if they aren't perfect. The cars don't have to be. The best part is to come and share the fun with us, and let us see your cars, whatever shape they are in.

By the way, last week, I just got my vacation days for that week as well (I wasn't too worried), so I know the feeling. See ya all there.

Me too!

I retire from the sheriff's office this Tuesday. I'm making reservations tonight! My Lifeliner won't be ready this year, but Dave and I hope to make it to Akron!

Yes Shawn, the Pinner will definitely be there. So will the hearse AND Miamitown, bringing all three. Got July 12th - 17th approved off and am really looking foreward to this meet!
You said you only have TWO to detail? :yum:

I am really excited you all are coming

We are really looking forward to having you all here. We had very high hopes of breaking PCS attendance records and then the projected costs of gasoline kind of rained on those hopes. I will have all five of my cars there, so Dwayne, you and I can split Shawn when it comes time to detail the cars.:thumb:
We hope to show you a great time here but I think with everyone that is coming some of the greatest times will be the social networking in the parking lot. I have been on this message board nearly seven years now and have been to four international meets and still have not met some of you face to face and this is something I am really looking forward to. In a club that was on the rocks around or a little over a year ago, we seem to have recovered completely. I think we will all have a great time and there should be a very, very large assortment of cars on hand. This is also going to be a great place to have it take place. The facilities are great whether it be lounging around the pool, having some drinks in the bar or hanging out in the lot and the prices are very, VERY AFFORDABLE so if that gas price does get high, the cost of attending is still low so it all balances out. So we look forward to seeing you all here.

I also set my time off for work this last week. So i should be at one of my frist pcs meets. I will be looking to meeting all of you guys in person. And with the generosity of Dwayne i will likely be driving one of dwaynes coaches, since mine 49 would not be fitting at this group.
