Help Identify these old ambulances

Hi guys im wondering if you can help me out. What can you tell me about these 2 cars. They were both owned by Lower Burrell, PA. The only things I can tell you is one is a Cadillac and that we have a Superior dealer in town. I'm also curious about the lights on the Cadillac. Thanks for any help

a a glance the first car is a 50's ?? Buick most likely made by flexible

the second is a MM the top lights give it away. I'm guessing 61 built on the commercial chassis supplied by Cadillac. but there is a whole bunch of people he can tell you a lot more.

The Cadillac is a 1962 Miller-Meteor Futura ambulance. The Buick is definately a Flxible - most probably a 1951 Sterling ambulance. It could be a 1952 Sterling as well but we can't really see enough of it to properly identify it. It's impossible to tell if it has three or four fender-mounted mouse-holes - three for a Sterling and four if it's a Premier. It certainly isn't a 1950 because the 50models had the Buick "port holes" mounted on the sides of the hood.

I stand by the '51 Premier identification (check out the wheel covers and body trim), but stand corrected on the Futura. As can be seen in the M-M book, 1961 was the last year for this style to be called a Sentinel.

you are right on the holes 51 it is as they are in the fender. missed that in my thumbnails but if you want to know for sure I have found you make a guess. that brings the people that know out of the woodwork. so know that we know its a 51 flexible Buick most likely a 4 hole as they are so far forward on the fender
the other is the 62 miller meter future. here is a example I have of each of them in a different rig. the first I took at stay central meet the #2 I don't know were. bet that 62 is miss labled let me know.

id these coaches

The first one is no doubt a Buick.
The second coach is a 62 Cadillac. Look at the square parking lights in the bumper. The 61 Cadillac had round parking/fog lights. Look at my avatar picture...1961 Miller-Meteor.

Below are the photos Matt was trying to link to, not sure why they didn't work the way he did it (I tried the same thing and they didn't work, either.)

Anyway, Matt, that's a '69 Superior Cadillac Rescuer ambulance.

By the way, I own two antique ambulances from up your way - '57 DeSoto wagon from New Kensington #3, and '60 Flxible Buick from Allegheny Ludlum Steel, West Leechburg Works.

Buick

The 49 Buicks like the two owned currently by Ansonia Rescue here in Ct, have the port holes in the fender, one of which is still undergoing restoration and the other the parts car. The windshield in the 49 was a split 2 pc as opposed to a one peice

Thanks a whole bunch guys. I really appreciate all the help. Is it safe to say that the Safe-t-vue lights on the MM are rare even though they were standard?

will only MM used them and only for a few years so it is safe to say they would be difficult to find replacements ones. I don't think I have ever seen any for sale
