Hello, new member with some pro-car pontiacs

Hey guys! Im a big time pontiac guy but not really procar specific. . .but when I stumbled on these two I just had to pick them up! Heres the details on my cars, if I have anything wrong feel free to correct me, like I said Im not pro-car guru by any means! Just into rare pontiacs. . .
First up is my 63 Bonneville Superior consort, I believe one of 204? 42K original miles, had been off the road since '72 when I bought it this spring. Got everything working, and drove it a little bit this summer. So awesome! I get more compliments on this beat up old amby than when I drive my nice restored cars! Haha. Car is like 99% complete, original fire extingusiher, unusd original spare tire, lights sirens everything! Very cool. Believe it was used in BC Canada. Plan is for a stock resto.
Next up, just got back from picking up the ambys sister! 63 bonneville superior limo. This one has been way harder to find info on. . .anyone know production numbers? Its a fair bit rougher than the ambulance, and as such will get a bit more of a custom, more modern restoration. Any info you guys have is appreciated!

hello

welocme aboard!! be great to see some pictures! Its always amazing how much interest an old ambulance gets when you drive it down the road!

Welcome aboard Will! I really like your enthusiasm for Pontiacs. You will get all of your questions answered, you will see!

Will: Welcome from your western neighbour! This is a terrific group of people who can help with any questions you may have about your cars.
If I can suggest you consider joining the website formally as well as the society. Each offer something a little different. You will NOT be disappointed with either. Both can be accessed from the main page.
Looking forward to hearing more about your cars. (They were both likely sold through Sorensen Distributors in Red Deer, Alberta).

Thanks Tim! Cool to know where the amby would have came from, the limo I imported from the 'states though. It came from Illinois, but I believe was used in Iowa. . .Its wired for a siren and roof light? Any insight on posting pictures?

Welcome. Looking forward to seeing your coaches. You can upload pics to any free service (ImageShack, Flickr, Photobucket, etc.) before copy/paste here.

There is pair of Superior Pontiac combinations in a wrecking yard that I've been picking parts off. Holler if you need anything.

Oh, wow! That made my mouth water. . . I need that moulding on top of the drivers side quarter panel, and actually Id like to have the whole fiberglass quarter panel extension on the drivers side. My car was hit hard on the drivers side quarte. . .

PM/email a list, no rush. 3.5 hour drive and I try to get there once every 6 weeks or so. Yard insurance prohibits torches but I do carry an 18v Sawzall w/ 3 batteries for panels. ;)

Will, welcome. As a Pontiac owner myself, I can “sympathize” with the desire for a Pontiac professional car. Fun and cool.

You asked for corrections, I’ll supply one. We refer to them by name as coachbuilder, then chassis builder, and the model name after that. So you have a ’63 Superior Pontiac Consort ambulance and a ’63 Superior Pontiac limousine.

As for production numbers, according to the book “Superior, A Complete History”, there were 69 Consort ambulances built in ’63. There were another 123 Consort combinations (combination hearse and ambulance, not sure which yours is without pictures). The book does not list production numbers for the limos. They were probably pretty limited, but there are others out there.

For you to post pictures, you need to be a “site supporter”. Which means you need to pay a little to support the site. You can click on the yellow box at the top of the page for that. To join the PCS club – an excellent idea as mentioned above – you can click the blue box.

Hey again fellas! I didn't forget about this site, just busy with work! Here some pics at last! The amby pics are the day after i got it this spring, the drivers quarter has since been patched back together for a temporary fix.

Very nice ambulance, unusual to see a Consort full-ambulance like that.

But wow, what the heck happened to the back corner there??? That's a lot of damage to a section of custom body work...

that thing looks like it was swimming with sharks. got a big bite out of it's butt. but will worth puting back togather not a lot of stright ambulances out there .

Welcome Will! I can do some work to find if the Consort is from BC. Do you have any leads at all?

When you get a chance please post some pictures of the interior front and rear.

Consorts were not common in BC at all.

Thanks guys! I'll post what photos I have, dont have much as I was too busy working on it! Now it is stored for winter. Story is it was hit by a gravel truck in the previous owners driveway. He felt bad it was getting neglected and decided to sell. Lucky me!
As for it coming from BC, he told me a relative of his actually used the car at a mine as they were required to have one on site. I found a 1972 BC license plate in the back.
I'd love to know the limo's history, it has what I am sure are original bucket seats and it is wired for a siren. Political car maybe? Heres a few pics. Note that the quarter Isnt quite as bad now! Got it hammered out to be usable, but am trying to hunt down a replacement.
