I have an interest in Oldsmobile police-optioned cars; I know that there was a special "police option" 15 inch wheel offered circa 1966-1968 that was unique in that the center section was welded to the outer rim for a full 360 degrees (i..e. no "vents") and also in the fact that they accepted mid-late 60s Toronado centercaps (see pics below).
What I am wondering is if anyone is aware of any mid-late 60s era Oldsmobile based professional cars that were equipped with these wheels?
In a similar vein, I wonder if any other police-based "suspension" options (such as rear swaybars and the like) offered by Oldsmobile were known to make it on ambulances and hearses? (based on the "cargo" they were carrying
, I am not entirely sure if these would have been deemed necessary, but I am nevertheless curious).
