not a problem here there is nothing in town I can't spend 15 extra minutes and walk to. I'm kind of in a fix though I have Been putting 10 gl of gas in the truck a month and I'm not able to do it next month unless I go some were in it. I feel I must support the locale business but just don't have a need. big oil feels that the price of crude pumped in wy refined in wy piped to SD, should reflect the price of crude pumped in south east Asia, refined in south east Asia and shipped to a dock in new York on a slow boat. I don't my only defence is to use as little of there product as I can. I do so. would suggest you all do the same. remember it takes a qal and a half of petroleum to produce one gal of etoh. you as tax payers are subsidizing this industry so that we will no longer be dependent of foreign oil. even though we are sitting on more oil here then they have. we just don't produce or refine enough here for our own use. as drivers of automobiles we are but a drop in the bucket to the industrial use of petroleum but we bare 100% of the blame of wasting the resource.

Richard , you should move back to michigan are price are not that bad right now. do you have a costco shopper's club down there. my opinion is its the new gas station's that pull a stunt like this. maybe its time to convert the lifeliner to hybrid . i'm still researching a rare ambulance i found on flickr a vauxhall chevette ambulance. and ed is correct on his post.

I recently read that the gas prices are all artificialy inflated because of wall street creating the shortage along with amateur traders, speculators, investors. They did the same thing with housing driving up the prices and here is another example of the goverment turning there backs.

but just for the sake of comparison what are the taxes up there. each state here has a different gas tax. the 42 cent federal is added in and in SD it's 24 cents so we have 66 cents a Gl tax. the boys in europe I know are paying well over 3.00 tax on there gas. 85 oct reg here is running 3.45 today with the 66 cent tax

Old photo, but I still find it funny...

In the Uk where I live it's £1.35 per litre which when converted to dollars is roughly $11.00 per gallon..! So I think what you guys have to pay is by comparison, fairly good value!!

but what are your taxes on the gas. I'm rough figuring the canadian gas and it looks to me like its 3.70 with out tax about a buck a gl more then we are paying here. at 2.79 with out tax

Hi the breakdown is roughly as follows; I'll keep the prices in UK pounds - I have found a local supplier only charging £1.33 per litre which is £6.60 per 5litre (roughly a gallon) works out at $10.60 per gallon A BARGAIN!!

The Duty (government tax)is 58 pence
Product is 48 pence
VAT (government tax, on the product) 22 pence
Delivery/retailer 5 pence

running a big Cadillac Hearse costs a fortune to run. Currently in the garage, due to having a cracked windshield...! (any body help... please..!)

Most here in New Smyrna are at $3.65 and some at $3.79. Remember when oil was over $140 a barrel a while back and gas only hit $3.75 a gallon. Why is it so freaking high with oil only at $107?

Thieves...

Michigan finally jumped up last night in the 48154 @ avg of 3.65 for 87 oct. or more if you go near the fwy's havn't been up to costo yet to see there price's. where exactly is the pipe line for the midwest?

Next to and north of you Michigan buddy. Over 50% of oil coming into this country comes from Canada with far less coming from the middle east. So why is it the greedy oil bastads continue to screw the American public and we gladly bend over and take it! :2gunsfiring_v1:

because the last time they tested the waters we stopped using gas at somewhere around 4.50 a gal. so they know we will grin and bare it up to around that point.

I'm loss with converting pence to pounds. I can't find anything right now in the house that tells me how many pence there is in a pound. I can convert pounds to dollars as of some time around the first of the year but cant brake down the denominations. guessing at 10s it comes to 2.62 a gl tax in England

here the tax is written on the pump. so comparing prices with out deduction the tax doesn't give you a fair price of gas. for example Wy has about half the state tax as SD. and when you deduct the tax you discover that they pay 5 cents a gl more in Wy for the same gas they sell in SD. the cost for the consumer is less but the profit margin is greater. but all in all the big winner is still the bank. you swipe your card in the pump and they get 5% for the transaction. gas is over a dollar a gl from last year. you do the math and see just how much more the bank is now making and not doing anything different. the 5 cents a gl makes up for the change in credit card fees. so now you see the world market at it's finest.

what kind of help do you need on the windsheld. I can get you one you want to drop over and pick it up.

Because they can! They know no matter how much it is we will pay it.
