Former Santa Cruz Ca ambulance to crusher

Update #2

Well the news is bittersweet.after talking with the NEW owner(It turns out he is related to the wrecking yard owner)on the phone and in person for the last 2 days he is not interested in selling the ambulance.
He is dead set on making a demolition derby vehicle out of her.I mentioned if there was a size limit and his answer was that he is competing with larger vehicles, trucks, vans etc,not knowing much about demolition derbys I really did not have a response.
He is being sponsored by a beverage company called "First aid station" thats why he wants the rig so much.
I made him an offer higher than what I think she is really worth and he countered with a unrealistic price......
He did say that he would allow me to retrieve anything on her with the exception of motor/transmission....for X amount......I did think that was a more then fair price so today we spent removing most items and will finish tomorrow.
So one less Superior folks.....:(

I want to take a moment to personally thank you for all your attempts to save this rare vehicle. I am saddened at the end result of the guy being dead set on a demolition car.

I hope you got the cars number so we can record and know its unfortunate fate. I'm also glad you were able to at least salvage important rare parts and trim.

Again thank you very much

you are doing good there. the trim around the floor doesn't exist anymore either.
they had the lines milled in the common stock and were cut to length for each car.

Besides the group of morons who wish to "Ecto" everythinmg even remotely resembling the real thing, this is another group of idiots I'd just love to slap the livin' pi$$ out of. They just make my blood boil. I ran into one of them a few weeks ago at the Cold Creek Festival car show. He was all about me making the '64 into a demo car. I explained to him, that for the sake of his good health he'd be well advised to leave the general vicinity...post haste. Being much smarter than he looked, he beat a hasty retreat!!

carrier bearing

James, As Richard Vyse mentioned, you might try to get the carrier bearing after goofball is done destroying the car!

Thank you James for saving what you could!

Bye bye old 1972 Superior Cadillac 54" hightop, I'm sure you worked hard and helped save a few lives or maybe even helped bring a few new ones into this world!

the door and quarter glass will have to come out to. the easiest way is to pull the top, roll the glass all the way up and slide it off the riser. looks like your doing the man a big favor you got most of his work done for him.
