Flower cars still working ??

Any chance there is a pic of that? I have always wanted to make a landau hearse out of one of those airport limos!! I have a pic of one on a Chrysler chassis that was on Ebay years ago that they filled in the rear quarter glass, I loved it.
no, not that I know of. i'll check with my sis as she has all my mom's old pics. but it was so ugly it had to be pretty to someone. just wasn;t me. he took one row of seats out and put in removable rack (that we bolted to the floor). put another roof rack on it as the one original to the car was gone. took it off a chevy wagon. that was for flowers. he had it all figured out except for how fugly it was. our maid even made curtains for it. he was proud when it was done but none of us wanted to drive it. when my brother wrecked it I believe everyone was happy..k

Not to hijack this thread, but this is the car I found that really made me want to build one.

I managed to get a couple grab shots of this Eagle Cadillac while en-route to the 2011 PCS International Meet in Hudson, OH. I don't remember the exact location; somewhere around Columbus, I think.

(Karsnia photos)

Tony, you're exactly right about location... those photos are on I-71 just north of downtown Columbus @ the Cooke Road/Hudson St. exits

our 70 Superior

Unfortunately, we've only used our '70 Superior flower car a few times since the restoration (white). With less "spray" and "cut" flower arrangements, and more vases and plants that the family can take home with them after the funeral, it is also difficult to have enough flowers going to the cemetery that will completely cover the stainless steel deck. But we still have the car, and will use it in good weather if the situation is right.................

I remember a few months ago, you posted it for sale. Is it still for sale, or have you changed your mind and are keeping it???

Here are some pictures that have been forwarded to me of 2 flower cars owned by 2 friends...

Thompson Hall Jordan, the largest African-American firm in Cincinnati, operates at least one late model Eagle flower car...in the gold color they have used for decades. I don't have a pic handy at the moment. I have never seen flowers on top, they just use it like a regular coach.

Walker Funeral Home in Cincinnati had a late model Eagle Flower Car. I'm not sure if it is still around. They were bought out by Newcomers.

In Indiana the funeral homes with Coupe De Fluers Stuart Funeral Home in Indianapolis they have three I believe, Williams and Bluitt in Indianapolis has one, Lavenia Smith and Summers which is a branch of Hall Jordan has one in Indianapolis, Gholar & Gholar Funeral Home in Anderson, Indiana has a early 80's superior

I work for a Livery company in New Jersey and we have a 2006 DTS converted to a flower car that we use quite a bit. I drove it today in fact. There are also a few homes that still have flower cars. I may be looking at one to purchase soon.

flower car in use

Shelley and I saw this flower car in Chicago late last summer...2013. It is being used by a funeral home on Roosevelt dr in Chicago. This one was parked right on the sidewalk one morning as we passed by. I had to stop and get pictures. The name on the building is House of Branch Funeral Home at 3125 W Roosevelt Rd.
