Finishing Touches

stop signs are a option in town. you want one on your corner, you ask city hall and they decide if you get one or not. man on the right has the right of way when two people come to a intersection at the same time. makes life a lot easier. spend to much time in a working ambulance to think the siren is cool. it is just a necessarily tool to be used when you need to. but the double tone is different at a low growl. the click clack of the motorized flasher is all most as good. the lights working are here http://www.dropshots.com/jer57747#date/2012-03-17/15:12:06

I can't wait!!!!!

I am sure you can't! I don't think I would sleep until it got home. Absolutely beautiful job, Ed. Brendan sure has something to be proud of, and I am sure he will be showing it off every chance he gets, and who could blame him? Congratulations on your "new" car! I will just be a happy camper to get the motor back in mine.

We're only one state over!

With Minnesota being only one state over from South Dakota, I would have gladly met the transporter down along I-90 for a photo session! Actually, there probably would have been a whole group of us Northlanders on hand for that!

Congratulations on the completion of this magnificent ambulance! It has truly received the care and pampering that were not present for so many years.

I vividly remember seeing your car at the PCS Nationals in Grand Rapids. It seemed pretty darned good at the time, and looks even more amazing now. My congratulations at putting the money and effort into restoring such a beautiful and historically worthy car. Tom

Thanks again everybody! Tomorrow Paul and Jim Staruk are coming down to visit. I have some things to set up and clean and we should be good to go. I'm very excited, and will bring a real camera tomorrow! I am not going to letter the car, I'm going to have new window signs made. Right now I have one of the original window signs, it says S&S Ambulance Service.

WOW!!!!! Great Job Ed!! She looks awesome!!

Enjoy it well Brendan, I can imagine how much fun and pride you will have driving her around!!

Dana.

Jim, until recent , ownership history of my car is fairly vague. I bought it from a fellow PCS member, who put me in touch with its previous owner. He told me he rented the car to the studio that produced " A Bronx Tale". PCS member Rich Litton, who is a wealth of knowledge with New Jersey Rescue squads told me the car may have served originally in Milltown, New Jersey. Several unanswered calls to the squad, even tried the town library. The window sign says S&S Ambulance Service. I e-mailed the Chief of this service, and he believed this was one of their first rigs but was not very eager to help with it's history. This car sure looks like mine, colors even match. But who knows. Someday I will travel to Milltown and S&S Ambulance Service in New York and do some more digging. Thanks for posting this pic, it may be a clue.
