Exhaust question

I have to take the 54XL to the shop later this week for the Provincial Motor Vehicle Inspection. This shop is also the best muffler shop around so here is my question.

Looking at where the tail pipe comes out I think that it causes fumes to come in the patient's area. Would it be better if it comes out to the side just behind the rear wheel?

Not really. Factory spot was right rear courner. The low pressure behind the car will suck the gas into the car only if the back door is not sealing. Idling with the door open would maybe be more, but moving would be about the same.

You could have them cut off the tip and turn it to the out side. It looks like she is burning clean.

Definitely have it turned back to the outside. Looks like an excellent body works!

Exhaust leak fixed and tail pipe rerouted. No more fumes seeping in the car as I drive.

Excellent work! My uncle used to have a 54XL back in the days. I'm coming over tomorrow to help him install the shocks and bumper from 4Wheelonline onto his Wrangler. I'll see if he still got some photos of the car.
