Could this be classified as a pro car?

I am thinking about buying this 1952 Crosley Wagon that already has a red light on top and a siren on the front fender, I was thinking about making it a small ambulance. I think it would be cool looking as real as I can make it, just in miniature. Maybe even put "Smallville Rescue" on the side.

Just looking for some opinions. What do ya'll think?

I have always wanted a flower car but have not found "just the right one" yet.

I had a Chevy Suburban Hearse last summer that was a ton of fun.

I'd love to find a nice flower car for under 5 G's so if you guys run across any, please post in the For Sale section.

here's a pic of the Crosley.

I play dead bodies on TV shows and movies so I have a passion for pro cars.
I also have a '65 Marlin and a Wildfire 3 wheel truck,

I almost bought a Crosley wagon a cupple of years ago, one of the cars I regret passing up on. I think it would be cool to make a small ambulance out of it. I say go for it. You got a good start already. Good luck.

I don't know. Parades and such I would think or a chief's car like Josh said. They say it runs out fine, just need the brakes fixed because they stick. Parts are plentiful for it and I have a buddy that has a vinyl sign shop that could make any sticker or red crosses.

I'll keep ya posted.

Technically? No, not a professional car. But don't let that keep you from buying something you'll have fun with! No idea what it might have been originally, but you could have a lot of fun making it look like an ambulance....

Good luck finding a miniature stretcher and attendant's seat though! :D

I like different, probably why I elected to collect ambulances over a Plymouth Baracuda. I think it will make a cool little ambulance the attendant seat for a golf cart ambulance or a gator med bed would make a great attendant seat for it.:specool: Oh and it will be more than welcome at the Ohio International Meet

Personally, I love it! Whether it is, or is not a professional car doesn't matter to me. However, if you look at the article on that little Crosley plant ambulance and look back at what has been used for ambulance and funeral purposes, why not? Did anyone ever see a Rambulance? How about those station wagon ambulances other than ACC Amblewagons in service?

I think that it is very cool! It gets my vote!

I have the same picture as you do Brendan. I like it as much for the inner-plant ambulance as for the fact that the Westinghouse plant in Sharon is just acrss the street from where I worked for 11 years. A little bit of local history for me.

Maybe have "Munchkin Land Squad" or something similair on the side. I think I'm gonna buy it this weekend. It's only $1800 and I think would be a very unique addition to my already unique collection along side the Marlin and Wildfire. I'll probably sell the Wildfire and use this to tool around cose to home.

It's fun driving the little 3 wheek truck within 8 or 10 miles of home. It has a rough ride, but it gets 72 miles per gallon. Someone hollar if interested in the 3 wheeler. It's totally street legal.

PS: That picture is from 1950 Modern Machanix magazine.

HEY! Look what I found on the web after some snooping.

Very cool Charles, I looked up the plant on the internet and it is huge, I bet that there are large businesses and manufacturing facilities across the country that used very creative means to transport sick/injured patients when the need arose.

Chuck, good luck and have fun with that Crosley, and if you do decide to make it into an ambulance there are plenty of people here who will help you with technical/period correct advice, just ask. Keep us updated with the photos.:toocool:
