only till the first wave hits it, then it turns into an instant submarine. They were great fun cars, but they didn't fair very well when other boats came near them. They couldn't handle the wake, and consequently went to the bottom quickly. Someone recently posted a picture of a car, and I saw what I thought was a Corvair in the truck behind it. I asked the seller what the car was, and he told me it was an Amphicar. Didn't say if it were for sale or not, and I didn't pursue it.
