Check these new style hearses

The Cadillac looks like a Honda mini van with a chopped top. The Lincoln tail lights have always reminded me of the stormtroopers helmet off Star Wars.

Just a thought

:myopinion::my2cents:Ford has came out with the retro Mustang, Dodge with the Charger, and Chevy with the Camaro. Maybe it's time Cadillac came out with something retro that would have character enough to be used as a coach.

The Lincoln hatchback "thing" does look cheap...not classy at all. Although the Cadillac does look a bit better then the lincoln I'm not a big fan of the Limousine style either. But If I had to choose one to go out in..... I would pick ......my 87 Eureka not one of these.

As I am writing this, I am looking out my front window, staring at my 64 hearse, which I brought home after a car show last evening. Looking at the photos of the future for professional cars, it makes me appreciate what we've had up till now, mostly. Personally, the new Caddy looks more like a Volvo station wagon, the Lincoln, bless it's heart, well, looks like the Cheshire Cat grinning at you, kinda. From the voices we hear from this sight alone, and all of us funeral directors out there as well, maybe we can get some changes made. But then, you only have so much to work with. Oh well, I'm going back to staring at the "what use to be" in my driveway. Sigh

The federal government, in its infinite wisdom and meddling, ruined the professional car industry in the mid 70s. With the federally mandated downsized chassis for the 1977 model year, professional cars would never again look even close to right in my opinion.

I think it's good the government mandated approved EMT training and standards, better equipment and the like, but I do wonder just how many lives were actually saved because of truck based vs. long wheel base commercial chassied ambulances built from passenger car tooling.

At the end of the day, what really saved more lives in the field of EMS: Truck and van based ambulances, or better training and equipment?

Personally, I like the Cadillac that Rance will be producing. However, I don't see the low roof line carrying over very well to the landau style.

As for the Lincoln, even Ray Charles would say that it is U G L Y !!

When I started 43 years ago it was load quickly and drive quickly,we have progressed leaps and bounds by not only having the equipment and training but also the knowledge to know whats going on,so much so that long delays are being found on many calls while you assess and treat your patient, that now it appears they are leaning toward, quick assessment, rapid treatment and epediating transport.Unfortunately I have personally found the human on the stretcher, the real person, is being left out of the equation.:my2cents: As for vehicle types,if you get a chance to ride in the back of the new vehicles,on the stretcher you will see where my constant apology of sorry about the ride, but its just a truck...comes from.:smileflagcan:
