who needs 50 deg 25 was enough for me. I will say it was a cool ride but around the block we went

Now Ed, can you remember how to put Brendan's car back together? You have shown that when done you have parts left over. I wish you would do someone's 73 Cadillac and end up with a rear bumper left over and we could make a deal on it. If Brendan's bumper works on my car just tell him he needs a new one, we can talk!

:pat:

I think we should buy the old Miller Meteror plant in Piqua. For it's size, we can get it really cheap. Use it for headquarters, a museum, anybody close by could store their vehicles there (for a small price), have our own garage and body shop. It is so huge we could even lease some of it out to cover costs.... A few of us had this discussion at the last MM reunion. Dreaming.......... Let me know ahead, so I can resign! LOL

My God LeeAnn, I thought the EXACT same thing....Ohweohweohwe!!!

This thread proves that this group can get along, but they just can't stay on topic. If you want to discuss another topic then start a new thread. It is unfair to the original poster that his original thoughts are derailed and the thread goes in a different direction. Please, stay on topic, or start a new thread. This has been an ongoing problem, and I wind up splitting threads into new ones.
As for a non profit club collecting donations to help another non profit, makes no sense and might jeopardize our tax exempt status. Anyone that wants to donate to a charity should do so privately.
thanks Paul

Ok then back to the original topic. "YES" there are times when we seem to jab one another and the person on the end of the stick with the sharp end gets a little bit defensive. But in the end we all know it is what we do and it takes care of itself. The PCS website posters are a tight knit bunch and on occasion may post something that makes one raise an eyebrow.

It is all taken in stride but we all respect each other fully!!! :respect:

On the other hand that just may be the way I see!

Off Topic for a Sec

Michael,

As far as the charity thing goes, I am a animal lover just as much as the next guy, and I lost my dog of 19 years back in the summer of 2010. But like Todd said, we have all lost family members and close friends to things like cancer, diabetes, and many other things. There for, each person might have there own charity that they prefer, for there own personal reasons. Take forr example me, I have a eye condission called Retinitis pigmentosa, that will eventually sooner or later lead to total blindness. And as of right now, there is no treatment or cure for it. There for, that would probly be my choice of charity.

As for a museum, the Cadillac & LaSalle Club has one, and if we could figure out how to start something like that, that would be great. Plus, we have all the right people to help get something like that going. Wow, just think, a Professional-Car museum. That would be the greatest thing sence sliced bread.

Again, all this is :myopinion:. Thank you everyone for your posts. Now back to the original topic.

For days, I would click on the '63 Pontiac auction thread and keep up with the latest. With a few minor exceptions, it stayed civil and professional as we could have expected. I did find myself, after it took on a national audience that didn't exist days before, more reluctant to post anything unless I was sure it was noteworthy. I wanted to comment on the guy with spikey hair pointing at the '63 and saying, "THIS IS THE CAR!"... but I left it alone.
I also noticed, in myself that I was a pretty big cheerleader for a poster until they said something that disagreed with my position... then, I would think, what are they doing on here anyway...? ha ha... just being candid...

I have missed any other discussions that took a bad turn with comments.

Let me mention one other thing that I think might be noteworthy for this particular thread - I am constantly amazed at the emails I get from well intentioned friends - with a political or even theological message that often conflicts with own beliefs - which I try to keep pretty private. I just heard a nationally known funeral service speaker who was excellent - but he ventured into an area I have tried to stay out of doing funeral service continuing education classes - he made fun of some presidential administrations. While I actually agreed pretty much with what he was saying, I couldn't help but think if there were others in the room who were alienated at that point by his message because of his jokes. In 2010, I got turned off quickly by a gospel singer in a quartet who took to the podium and threw out his political beliefs betwixt songs. Sometimes, it is best to leave things like that out of discussions...
But, I am often wrong... so...

I don't think anyone minds the poking fun, Ron & the suction cups, Larry and the buffets, Jeremy and the pigs, Nick the Amish dude, Sarah and the pole dancing (ooops, she may not have let that one out of the bag yet...oh, well!), Paul being a grouchy 'ole man, Richard and his constant wanting to sell the Criterion when he thinks something better comes along, me and the luggage cart and whatever else.... Rick, I won't say anything to you about the Steelers losing the Super Bowl! Well, you get the picture. It's just more of the personal comments that I think is what is being addressed here, constantly commenting about someone's spelling, grammar, etc... We all may not be the brightest crayon in the box, but we are all here for the same reason(s) and there are alot of us that haven't met and we don't know what's going on with the person sitting at that keyboard.. Ok, Ok, Paul, sorry I got off topic about Piqua, but come on, admit it, it is a GOOD idea! Sorry, I hijacked your thread, Josh!!

...
Take the SUCTION CUP situation for example...
This will likely never die.
It has been going on for almost 2 years now.
It comes up in so many threads and posts.
Maybe Ron and Steve would like it to die. Likely Steve more than Ron !
I don't mind that it continues. Especially because I'm right! :smiley_w_ballbat:

Kent, you REALLY landed on one of my pet peeves. People (actors/actresses, authors, singers, tv personalities, and whoever else ESPECIALLY CLERGY) giving everyone the benefit of their "wisdom" regarding politics. To me, that is a complete turn-off as in I'm not gonna spend another penny of my money for anything that benefits them in any way. One of my favorite actors (in a very popular tv sit-com) shot his mouth off and as a result, I won't allow his presence on my television when I'm here.

My philosophy is quite simple.....act, sing, write, preach, entertain me or whatever but SHUT THE HELL UP ABOUT POLITICS. If I want your opinion on politics, I will cheerfully beat it out ouf you.

End of my little rant!! Thank you for your kind attention. (He kicks the soapbox aside and resumes normal activity.)
