I bet you can't wait to give it a bath, right James? It looks pretty solid to me. Good luck with it!
Thank you....
Your right Bill.....we are supposed to have sunny, mild temps for the next week, highs in the mid 50's...so I will get right on it.....and then we can see ALL the issues that the dirt is hiding......
plus that BEACON HAS to go !!!!

Nice looking rig, along with that beacon, the bug deflector should find a new home, anxiously awaiting the after bath shot..

don't toss out that factory strobe. they are kind of rare not a lot of them were used and the few members that have a car with them could use a spare. but I think you lucked out on a nice complete just out of service car. be careful as you go threw it. because some of the period correct stuff in there will make no sense to you today. once it's lost it can not be replaced they don't make it anymore. the lessons found will answer a lot of questions on stuff and some will bring up just as many. love begin able to go threw a old complete car.

Wow! Your guy actually did pull it through the mountains with a "van"! He has far bigger b@#ls than I do! I would never attempt that. I see that the R/F trailer tire let go at the end of the trip! That had to be one squirrely ride through the mountains!

You have scored one great ambulance there, James. Looks like it will clean up nicely and restore fairly easily. A real bonus that it's a 54" headroom car too!

I don't want to hijack your thread; just thought I'd share an "arrival" photo from when our '73 Superior Crown combination was delivered from Ohio in the middle of winter nearly five years ago. She hadn't been run in several years and looked like a sad mess. We soon had her up, running, and looking elegant again. I know the excitement and anticipation of removing all the dirt and grime!

Looking forward to seeing continued progress photos of your '70! BTW, we have a 1975 Miller-Meteor Lifeliner with four factory-installed Whelen strobe lights, however ours look slightly different than yours.

Looks good, even with a little dirt on it. That'll wash off.

I've never tried it, but why would it be a problem towing the trailer with a Ford E-350 1-ton van? It ought to handle it.

Make sure you scrub her good espeacialy underneath !!!! She is covered in road salt.. That is what killed most of our Northern cars. That crap will rust that car out so fast.. I have seen cars up here only 7 years old rotted out like they were dipped in acid. Spray that frame and floor out as good as you can. Great looking car tho.. I would love to have one like that .

yeah, yeah

:applause:some have all the luck. jealusy is a sin and im a sinner. i got "sorry, already sold". james, 3 beacons q2 on top, 2 cp25's and interceptor and im movin to califormia! move your trailer and ill park the motorhome there till we get her done! everybody paints these cars red and white but how about solid red!! sex on wheels for me. couldnt have happened to a nicer fella. now lets see which one is nicer. the one mr. renstrom is working on for the big kahunna or yours. doesnt really matter as im sure both will be outstnding!!! remember, im only a check i mean phone call away!

Great looking car. Gotta love getting cars in the winter. Clean em up and then have to wait for warm weather to drive em without risking salt spray.:)

I too saw the flat tire, very scary rig as Kurt mentioned. Nice car, glad you made it back with it. Partial to a 70 caddy myself.

I agree with this one!! If possible getit on a lift and also try to flush the frame from the inside through all the body mount and inspection holes.

That appears to be Dietz's version of Federal's Junior beacon, but I can't remember the model number. Like the Juniors, they had a single bulb with a lens assembly that rotated around it.

I know how James feels like!! Like most of us who gets a new toy..... My Type lll was so bad from sitting in the woods for years, that I could wait to give it a bath after spending hours and hours cleaning it It looked great !! and I also felt great it was well worth it !

Great Save James..................
