'54 Meteor Service Car update.

Just a quick update for the group on our '54 Meteor Pontiac Service Car.
It's alive! We recently got the ol' gal back on the road, albeit with a non-stock drivetrain. We're going to enjoy it while continuing to restore it back to somewhat original looking condition. An interior color change, and some mechanical upgrades to make it more road-able for longer trips.
BUT!...for now, she's a driver! Looking forward to attending as many shows as possible.
We created a Facebook page for the build to follow along on its journey.

What did you put in for an engine? Thought about it on my own, but the thing is running ok, and I'm not taking trips in it.

Finding a Pontiac engine is not very easy. I did the same with my 1964; I need a running engine. I had a mechanic replace the valves on my 1953 straight-8. That helped, but what helped was figuring out that things were turned backward in most engines and getting the timing set correctly.

We've been thinking about getting the original drivetrain rebuilt and put back in it sometime down the road. It'sIMG_20240721_104625478.jpg locked up at the moment, that's why we went with another motor.
