2013 Cadillac XTS Photo Released

2013 Cadillac XTS - LA Auto Show

I wonder if the folks at the Secret Service are disappointed with the XTS??? Maybe when the new Presidential limo debuts January 20, 2013 it will simply be a SUV stretch this time around.

I read lat night that that Lincoln thing is not selling well at all, so it may have a short time to exist. I hope someone did not invest too much in tooling.

Yeap, but as they say you can't fix stupid, but ugly, you can work with. I hope the new Lincoln remains as successful as the Edsel and they change either back, or get a new design that doesn't hurt my and my dog's feelings to look at it.:hide:

All the current vehicles in the Lincoln product range are having a tough time. Lincoln sales are sluggish squared and the Division may be in trouble. Ford management weren't smart enough to realize (or fully appreciate) how much they needed the Town Car. They discontinued it and are now suffering the consequences. It would probably have been better to re-style the Town Car on the old platform, up-date it by giving it the new "Lincoln look" and continue attracting that vehicle's traditional customers.

you mean like this?

Coach builders must wait

Supposedly, the coachbuilders will get the chassis before then. Baines Professional Vehicles is claiming a Cadillac XTS hearse will be at the NFD&MA Convention in Las Vegas (August 4-9).

It doesn't look like this is going to happen. Specialty Vehicle Group is saying their XTS based hearse won't be available until January 2013 at the earliest.

Apparently, their MKT hearse sales are doing well.

Lincoln has always been one of the makes that are close to my heart. That being said, after seeing what a mockery the "idiots" that run Lincoln has made of the company, I wish they would have pulled the plug along with Mercury. At least Lincoln could of kept what ever dignity it had left and been a respected memory. Instead it will be laughed into obscurity.

Being mainly a cadillac sort of guy, I do appreciate Lincoln. Unfortunately I do feel both have drained the distinction out of their designs. Being a young guy is hard when everyone is crazed over these new cars; while I am not. They hardly reminisce the things that made the marques great, making me feel like theyre all nuts. Id junk my '03 Deville in a heartbeat for my '69.

I like the sleek look of the limo. I dont like the looks of the super stretches that is popular today, but this is a nice size.

No Class no more

I too remember the 60's and 70's full size Cadillacs and Lincolns and Imperials, they are classy chassis' but GM and Ford and Chrysler got stupid after the first gas crisis hit and that caused everyone, especially the R & D people to just toss everything they learned the last 20 years about styling out the door and downsize, downsize, downsize. By the time the 80's hit, the designs of the individual body styles seemed similar to every other car body style in the different divisions of the various companies. Gone were the sculpted and curvacious body designs that actually signified what car was what when it was looked at visually from a distance.....there's a 62 Cadillac Fleetwood 75 limousine, there's a 67 Oldsmobile Toronado, there's a 72 Ford Thunderbird, etc., etc. Now everything has, to quote John Davidson of the TV program Motorweek many years ago, 'that squished jellybean shape' and so every car on the road looks similar to every other car on the road. Oh for the good old days and the quality that was evident in the build and design of those cars......:stars:
